Change for the better

You wake up, cold, in a hospital room. You look to your left and see Jake.
J: "y/n? Are you ok baby?"
Y/n: "I'm fine honey."
You shivered. Jake must've seen because he quickly pulled out your favorite blanket from a bag.
Y/n: "thanks. What happened?"
J: "Kat and Devyn came out of the girls bathroom crying. They ran up to me and told me you had blacked out so I went into the bathroom."
Y/n: "I blacked out? If I just blacked out I don't need to be here, I can go home."
J: "No you can-"
Y/n: "yes I can Jake. I'm fine"
J: "y/n, you don't understand"
Y/n: "what don't I understand? Is there something wrong with me? Why can't I just make my own choices!"
Jakes eyes started to water. I realized something had happened and he was trying to make me feel okay.
J: "y/n, I really don't want to tell you this. But your mo-"
He sniffled.
Y/n: "my mom? What happened?"
J: "she got into a car accident and passed away. I'm so sorry y/n."
I started to cry. Jake crawled into the bed with me and held me tight. We cried together until we fell asleep.

It's been a week since I got let out of the hospital and I'm doing okay. Jakes family let me move in, and Elton moved to LA with his girlfriend.
Me and Jake we're watching movies and cuddling when he turned them off.
Y/n: "hey, what are you doing?"
J: "let's go have fun"
Y/n: "okay"
I threw on one of his hoodies and we got in his car. He turned on music and drove to Walmart.
Y/n: "Jake, what are we supposed to do here?"
J: "you'll see"
He got out of the car and grabbed a cart from the cart corral.
J: "your Uber is here ma'am."
I giggled and hopped in the cart. He pushed me around the store.
We stopped in the bike section and he left me in the cart. He grabbed a kiddy bike with a horn and started squeaking it. I couldn't contain my laughter.
Y/n: "baby! You're going to get us kicked out!"
He hopped off the bike and ran down the aisle where he found rubber chickens. He shoved the whole stock into the cart, put me in the cart and started running.
Y/n: "Jake, what the fuck are you doing!"
J: "I don't have time! We need to get all of these home as fast as possible"
He kept running until we got to the checkouts. He payed for them all and then I hopped on his back. He ran to the car and put the chickens in the trunk. We drove to McDonald's and he ordered 50 chicken nuggets. He drove to a park and stopped. We ate chicken and laughed.
J: "y/n, I really love you. You changed my life"
Y/n: "I love you so much Jake. You've kept me so happy after everything"
He looked me in the eyes, and I stared at his. Before I knew it his lips were pressed against mine. We hopped in the back and made out. I fell asleep on top of him while he was holding me. I felt loved. He truly changed my life and I appreciate him so much.
