*Jack's POV*
It wasn't too long after sundown that we started to head back over to the base. Before we did though Nate ended up giving us some type of communication helmet so that we can continue to keep in touch from long distances and taught Ethan and I how to use it. We stopped over at their pods briefly so that they could grab anything of importance before leaving them for the foreseeable rest of our time in this universe.
"Hey, is everyone ready to go? I've got everything I can take that we should need." Stef spoke suddenly through the communication helmets.
"I've got all I can carry with me." Monica was next to speak and board her Seamoth.
"Same here, I'm in and ready to go." Nate stated just after starting up his own Seamoth.
"I've just got the last bit of materials, I'm making my way over to my Seamoth right now be there in a sec." Jaden was the last to get in and get started up.
"Alright, it's just this way, follow us... or wait no follow me and we'll make it there with good time before sundown." Ethan spoke up referencing something in the past.
"I got lost ONCE and I'm not allowed to lead the group?"
"Nope"
"I'd rather not get lost on my first way over to the base."
"Excuse me it's called Jacks Bossest Base."
"Why is it just your base and not any of the others who build it."
"I'm the one who built it up from nothing with my bare hands. I alone faced the danger of going alone."
"Really a Zelda reference?"
"I grew potatoes for everyone to eat and work myself to the bone to put food on the table, the precious potatoes, the crop of Ireland."
"Seriously Jack?"
"And that's the story of how Jacks Bossest Base came to be, wait where are you?"
"At the base, Ethan led us right there. Where are you?"
"Uh I don't particularly remember these here waters."
"Turn around."
"Oh thank god your all here I thought you got them lost Ethan!"
*Jaden's POV*
I smiled at the cluelessness of which is Jack. We were then led inside, leaded toward a room full of supplies and chests, everyone else apparently was sleeping and fatigue was affecting most of our group.
"Y'all go to bed, I'll get the rest of the stuff." I dodged any other responses by ushering them away and walking outside to get another arms full of stuff.
As I walked toward the seamoths I hadn't noticed that one was a couple yards away from the others, until there was an overflowing amount of things stacked on my arms.
In my confusion I placed most of the things on a elevated rock nearby, and looked toward the base. one light was one outside the door, all the ones inside were off or very dim. while moving things inside with the others had someone snuck out? I mean the sky is very pretty here..
Gathering courage I moved toward the shoreline and started my swim toward the misplaced seamoth, halfway i took a deep breath and dived, to the left of my vision something moved. Immediately panicked I started to swim faster, scared, I recalled what hostile animals are native to this zone. looking up from my thoughts I was closer to the seamoth, couple of strong arm swims away. the light from the seamoth revealed no one in its seat, a crack in the front glass makes me realize what I forgot.
