As you might have noticed, Part 1 of The Library of Powers has come to an end. In this part we were introduced to our hero, Jackson, and most of his supporting cast. We met Melanie, who seems to be more than the facade she puts on. We also met Ivory, who could very well be the protagonist of her own story. Her father missing, her powers strange, and her thirst for justice unquenchable. We also met Samantha and Chase, who are much more certain in their career path than our other characters.

Around them are their teachers, including Ms.Doil (or should I say, Ms. Forrester). Principal Gonners also made an appearance, who has definitely taken an interest in Jackson.

There is also their classmates, including Selina Sadie Demarcson, who you should have known was bad news. Her friends Lilian and Jennifer also joined the story. Also along are her more begrudging superpowered friends Connor, whose dad he promises is definitely famous, and Daniel, The Golden Snake.

Takeshi High is, contrary to popular belief, not living in a vacuum. Vera City surrounds it, with its insane amount of Superheroes. We met a few of them, like Triazz and briefly American Dream. And supporting them is the AHB, which not only Jackson's parents work for, but their family friend Oddie Rex, and even Selina's dad. We've also met their boss, Lance Hannigan, if we go all the way back to the prologue.

Lance Hannigan is not just some bureaucrat. He works behind the scenes with superhero Phantasm and mayor Alice Winter for some nefarious plan. They received the same message Jackson did, and made good use of their head start, closing the Writing Well. And even if Jackson doesn't realize the game has begun, Alice's sister Pheobe Winter has, who is working with someone with a vested interest to keep Alice from accomplishing her goals. Oh, and Phoebe has found a way into the Library of Powers. Jackson should be more worried about that.

And what is Guy Harding's deal? Melanie's uncle, who definitely has the League of Retired Supervillains on their guard, has not appeared yet. That will change soon.

The Library of Powers has a locked door.

This part had little actually happen, or did it? Perhaps everything was simply happening out of our view, subtle and secretive. Only time will tell.
