Step 1 : Know your language
Anybody can write. It can be an essay, a story, a journal or just anything random. It is quite easy to scribble words and sentences. But songwriting is difficult, it's not a bed of roses. It is not something which you can do with a flick of a finger. It is a step-by-step process and the first and foremost step is Knowing your language.
You should have proper and perfect knowledge of the English language - or any other languages that you use. You should know the correct pronounciation, meaning and big key words. If you don't know the language properly, you might as well drop writing lyrics.
Referring to the dictionary is a very good and helpful habit. You must go through a dictionary now and then. Not only will you be able to learn the correct pronounciation and meaning of the words but you will also discover new key words which can be used while writing the lyrics.
So why don't you pick up a dictionary and read it while I write the next chapter?
