Hayden's POV
•••
Noah...
God, he's beautiful. I kinda wish he was mine but I can't afford to get my heart broken again. Especially as Jace came back into my life. He's my boyfriend. We dated before but broke up because he cheated on me. I'm foolish for taking him back but everyone deserves a second chance... right?
Right now, Jace and I are walking down the street to his house. He wasn't that far from the store, hence why I'm always there. I often go there to get away from Jace but now I have another reason to go. And that is to see Noah. Have I mentioned that he's beautiful?
"What are you thinking of?" Jace asked dividing me away from my train of thoughts. I shrugged and looked away clutching my book to my chest. He tilted his head to the side and frowned.
"You ok?" He asked again this time he stopped walking and grabbed me by the arms. I nodded refusing to look at him in the eyes.
"Hayden-"
"I'm fine, Jace." I cut him off and shrugged his arms off of me. He sighed and backed away.
"I-i'm sorry." He mumbled and continued walking. I kept quiet until we arrived at his house. As soon as I stepped foot on the lawn, I was greeted with a pair of warm arms.
"Hayden!" A tiny voice squealed and giggled. I smiled knowing exactly who it was.
"Hey, gorgeous." I said and looked down at the 9 year old in front of me. She smiled and pulled away from me.
"Let's go play!" She insisted. Before I could say anything, she dragged me into the house and upstairs to her room. I laughed a little and placed my book down on her bed.
"What do you wanna play?" I asked her and sat down. She shrugged and grabbed a book off her shelf.
"I don't know. Read to me." She said and handed me the book before climbing into the bed. I nodded and opened the book then started reading.

Noah's POV

"I'm hungryyyyy!!"
I rolled my eyes as Tim walked around groaning.
"Dude, just go get something to eat." I said as I wiped the tables. He stopped and looked at me in wonder.
"What do you guys do when this place is filled with ppl?" He asked and sat down on a table. I pulled him off and wiped the spot he was on.
"What do you mean?" I asked.
"I mean, there's only you and your mother. When this place is filled and there's only one waiter, what do you guys do?" He explained himself. I thought about it and shrugged.
"I can't remember. It's been a while since we've got a lot of people." I replied and continued what I was doing.
"You're kidding, right?" He asked. I shook my head and shrugged. It's not a big deal though. We still get enough money to pay for our bills and have to ourselves since I work two jobs. But I'm off for a whole month and until then I'm here in this strore.
"I'll get this place going then. You guys are too good to not have people come in." He said and gaped a little. I just chuckled and said ok.
"I'm serious." He said and frowned. I raised an eyebrow and stopped again.
"Dude, everyone has passed by and did nothing but stare and walk off. Do you seriously think that you would be able to make people come in here?" I asked. He nodded quickly.
"How about I take a few of your cookies and whatever else you got here and sell it outdoors? I would be able to get you guys some money and get people to come in." He exclaimed and smiled. I laughed and had no choice but to agree.
"Ok, but if you don't get at least 50 people in here within one week, you gotta be my assistant for a month." I said and smirked. His face narrowed and he shook his head.
"No." He said. My smirk grew as I walked away.
"Are you afraid of losing?" I asked knowing that he would give in.
"Fuck it, fine! But if I am able to do that, you gotta ask Hayden out." He said causing me to stop dead in my tracks and drop everything that I had in hand.
"Hold up, what?" I asked in disbelief. He did not just go there.
"Are you afraid that I'll win, lover boy?" He mocked me and smirked. I pock the inside of my cheek with my tongue and glared.
"Deal! You're so on!" I replied.
