Chapter 2

Nolana watched as a small helping of food was placed next to her head, “You need to eat.” the brown eyed man told her, getting up and walking to the stump next to her. Sniffing at the raw meat she slowly nibbled on it, not really hungry when a whole pack of wolves were watching her. The man with the green eyes watched from across the fire, his eyes taking in every movement.

“Retire to your tents.” he commanded after a few minutes.

“But...” he gave a glass cutting glare and continued watching Nolana. The men filed away, their eyes watching her and the man.

“You too Shane.” the small man dipped his head and left without a fight.

She relaxed once everyone left. Nolana watched him get up and move to sit beside her. “I won't hurt you, I promise.” he whispered to her. Looking up at him with large golden eyes she gave a low whine and his hand automatically petted her head, “I want you to eat a little more before I take you to my tent.”

She gave a small sigh and complied. Belly slightly full she was lifted up into his arms and carried over to a large tent. “Sleep well my little bell.” he whispered in her ear as she drifted off.

[Arailm]

He watched her sleep, gently stroking the soft milky white fur. 'She is beautiful...when will she show me her humanoid form?' just as the thought slipped in his mind a tremor ran through her body and she slowly started she shift back to the human form. The bright red hair stunned him for a second before he continued to touch her hair. His fingers traced the sharp lines of her face, kissing the soft pink lips and inhaling her scent.

“Nnn...” she groaned. Gently stroking her cheek Arailm covered her body with the sheet and curled up beside her. 'Mine...'

He awoke as the small female in his arms started moving. Looking down at still golden eyes he watched fear flash through them. “I won't hurt you little one.” he whispered into her ear, making her shiver. A whimper made its way up her throat and he reluctantly released her from his grasp. She had the sheets in a death grip as she scooted to the edge of the floor bed.

“W-where a-a-am I?” she stuttered, golden eyes darting around wildly.

He held a hand out to her making her flinch, “I will explain everything after you eat, for now please come back over here.” trying to make his tone soft he inched closer, touching her forearm and rubbing it softly. She watched him warily but complied to his request. Seated on his lap eating more raw meat she got her answer.

“You are in a vampire camp, they captured you to lure my pack here to try and wipe us out. We managed to kill many of them but some escaped our grasp, you will be staying here until we are sure the surrounding area is safe for you to leave our care.” Secretly not wanting to allow her to leave his sights he removed the now empty plate from her small hands and placed it on the floor.

“W-where is my b-brother?” she asked, her voice slightly stronger. He watched as the medicine in the meat worked its magic. Her skin now held a slight rosy red color and her body wasn't so thin.

“We where unaware you were here with a litter mate. I will send out men to see if we can find him.” barking out orders to a few of his men he turned his attention back to her, “May I ask your name?”

She fiddled with her hands, “N-nolana...” she turned curious eyes on him, “Who are you?”

Smiling, “My name is Arailm, do you have a pack Nolana?” she shook her head.

“My mother and f-father are dormant wolves, they won't ever be accepted by a pack.” watching and hearing her stumble over the word father he tucked the mental note in his head away to ask later.

“Rest for today and you can join us by the fire tonight.” He rose from his position behind her and walked out of the tent leaving her alone.
