Chapter 8

Nolana woke in Arailm's arms. His head buried into her neck, licking and nuzzling the mark he had made. “You are awake.” he stated in a soft voice. She kept silent and still. He sighed and moved away from her to the bathroom. When she heard the water running she burst into tears.

'Moon?' the wolf didn't respond, in fact she couldn't find her. 'Moon!?' she whimpered in fear, wrapping her arms around her small body. “Nolana?” Arailm called, “Nolana!” she felt his arms once again wrap around her, bringing her closer to his overheated body. “Whats wrong?” he whispered in her ear, hand rubbing circles in her back.

“Moon is gone...” she whispered, still in shock from finding out her wolf was gone.

“Arelth is too.” he said suddenly, a hint of worry in his soft tones. Nolana yelped as he picked her up and carried her to the bathroom. “You need to bathe, get dressed and eat. My friend wants us to meet with him.” she watched him close the door before looking down at the steaming hot bath he had drawn for her.

“Might as well...”

Arailm closed his eyes and tried to focus on his wolf's aura. The small snake like trail wiggled and thrashed, drawing his eyes over to the two wolves playing. One was Arelth the other he didn't recognize until her blue eyes centered on him.

“Good evening Arailm.” she spoke, using Nolana's voice as a undertone in her own.

“Moon? Arelth?” he questioned.

“Go back to her.” the white wolf purred softly when his own licked her cheek. “She will need all your time right now.” he felt a small pull, small but there.

“What is it?” he asked.

“Her need to have you close.” Arelth answered, “She is coming to accept you, as small as the pull is now it can be broken. That means you need to support her choices, let her lean on you without having to fear you.” he watched as his mate's wolf gently cleaned Arelth's ears and face.

“How though?” Arailm felt the pull become slightly stronger, “Wait!” the scene faded and he found himself back in his room with Nolana calling out to him. Walking to the door but not entering her asked what was wrong.

“I-i need some help...” she almost whispered. Blushing when he entered the small room. “I can't reach my back...” she had her chest covered with a towel and her legs tightly closed. He leaned down onto his knees, taking the soapy washcloth and gently stroking her back. “T-thank you...”

“You're my mate little one, there isn't anything I won't do for you if you ask.” she relaxed under his tender actions, eyes closing. He watched her lean towards him, her wet hair slightly touching his chest. “Are you tired?” he whispered into her ear.

“Mhm.” she moved her head to rest on his shoulder, her nose inhaling his scent deeply.

“Rinse and come rest. We can leave tomorrow if your not too tired.” he rose after letting her move back on her own.

Nolana grabbed the extra towel off of the rack and wrapped it around her body then remembered that she didn't have any clothes with her. “Arailm?” she asked, peeking her head out and seeing him sitting on the bed.

“Yes little one?”

“I forgot my clothes.” she blushed as he smiled, ducking her head and not seeing him approach her.

“Then we must remedy that.” he murmured into her ear. She yelped as he scooped her up and deposited her onto the bed. Then grabbed her night clothes and handed them to her. “Go ahead, I won't look.” he teased, making her blush a deeper shade of red.

After getting her clothes on she waited on the bed as Arailm went to get her something to eat. Her hands went to her belly, gent;y stroking the flat surface. 'Is there a little child in there?' she wondered, the action reminding her of her own mother, making tears escape her eyes.

“Nolana?” Arailm asked, hovering over her with a worried look.

“N-nothing...just thinking about my mother.” she explained, quickly trying to wipe the tears away. He caught her hand and leaned down to lick the salty water away, getting a small giggle from her.

“You will make a great mother. I have no doubts about it.” she watched his eyes as he brushed his lips against hers. The sea green pools shone with delight when she didn't pull back from him. “Are you ready to eat?” she looked over to the table that held two plates of food and nodded. She seated herself and watched him do the same before slowly eating.

Arailm watched his mate sleep from his desk. He had promised her he would stay away from her for the night only because she had started crying and had more than once flinched away from his touch. Sighing he looked down at the paper work. Many packs in the area were requesting that the werewolf mob come and take care of the 'pest' problem. 'Something is going to have to be done about these vampire out breaks. Preferably before my pup is born...'

The bed side phone rang and he quickly answered it before Nolana could wake up. “Yeah?”

“H-help...please...th-they a-a-attacked...L-l-l-ef-f-eren pack!” someone groaned into the speaker before a loud crash sounded, someone snarled and the line went dead. Starring down at the buzzing electronic in his hand he glanced over at Nolana. Her face was one of peace, something he didn't see often. 'Shane.'

'Yeah? Whats up?'

'Vampire attack with the Leferen Pack, go check it out and eliminate the 'pests'.'

'Got it.' sighing again he headed into the spare bedroom to try and sleep away from his mate for the night.
