I woke up in a hospital bed. My leg was covered in a cast and a pillow was placed under it. I looked around and eventually saw Dimitri come out of the restroom. He rushed to my side.
"Hey my love, are you okay? Does it still hurt?" He asked. I tried sitting up and he helped me. I winced in pain as my leg moved slightly, it felt really sore and just a nasty feeling overall "I'll take that as my answer" he said as he caressed my cheek.
He had stitches by his right brow. "What happened to you?" My voice was very faint "Melinda grazed me with the gun she had. It had a large blade connected to it but it's alright" he said.
"What happened to Melinda.....?" I asked out of the blue "She...she passed away, she didn't survive the fire" he said and sighed afterwards. It was unbelievable that Melinda was dead. And what a tragic way to die.
The nightmare was over and that's all that matters to me, she has caused so much pain in my life. She payed for killing Joseph as well. Later on in the day Lizy brought Sophia. I was dying to get to see her again and hold her in my arms.
After spending 3 weeks in the hospital, the doctor said I could finally go home but to stay in bed so I could continue recovering. I felt relelieved to be back home. Dimitri pushed my wheelchair out of the hospital. All the news stations were already outside.
We stopped and only answered a few questions. "Mrs. Sinclair is it true that the readheaded girl was your husband's mistress?" One news reporter asked shoving the mic in my face. I heard Dimitri whisper "Is she fucking serious...".
"No that is not true, she was his ex, he has never cheated on me" I quickly responded "Mr Sinclair is it true that your ex tried killing Scarlett after finding out she's pregnant with your second child?" She asked now pointing the mic in my husband's face.
"What!?" I quickly asked "You're pregnant aren't you?" The lady asked enthusiastically. "No I am absolutely not, I just had a baby not long ago for Christ's sake!!" I yelled.
"My wife is not pregnant at the moment and no she did not try to kill her for that reason" Dimitri said and rolled me away. It was ridiculous what kind of stories the media makes up.
We finally got home. Dimitri carried me all the way to the bedroom while Lizy walked right behind us with Sophia. It felt so nice being back home. He set me on the bed "I'm going to take care of the damage from the shop, go ahead and relax my love" Dimitri said as he kissed me gently.
"Take good care of my girls" he said to Lizy as he walked away. "I will sir" she responded. The rest of the day we spent in bed and my recovery was smoother here at home than it was back at the hospital.
3 months later... I had fully recovered even though I still had to carry a cane with me. It was bearable though, as long as I could start walking again.
Dimitri and I were working on opening a new shop in town. Better than before and this time it was special to him because he would open it with me.
I hate that i had to meet him over a contract but i don't regret signing it. He has made me very happy in this year and 1/2 that we've been together and time has really flew by. With all the support we've been receiving it really is easier to get through hard times.
My thoughts were interrupted by my mom "She woke up and immediately started crying" my mom said as she handed me my daughter. "She's really attached to me" I laughed as I played with her brown curls, she really was the spitting image of Dimitri if it weren't for her brown hair and curls which she got from me.
"So what are you guys going to do?" My mom asked "I really want to move somewhere else. Where we could start fresh you know" I sighed looking back at the mansion, some leaves blew past me as I glanced at the back entrance.
"Like away from California?" She asked nervously "No mom, just another home" I smiled. To which she sighed in relief, she never really wanted us to move far away from her, especially since Sophia is here.
"Alright then, I'll see you in a few weeks then so we could go house hunting together" She said as she caressed Sophia's cheek. I nodded "There's a reason why your daughter was born with grey eyes" she spoke before she left.
"What do you mean?" I asked "If she was born with green eyes nobody would know the real Dimitri" she shrugged. "I guess everything that happens has a purpose" I whispered. Sophia was playing with my necklace with her chubby little fingers.

My mom waved at us and walked away, leaving me alone with my girl. I picked her up and made her small face look at me, her grey eyes shiny as ever. "Don't worry my love, your dad and I will give you an even better home, we'll start fresh as a family" I cooed at her.
She flashed a sweet smile at me to which my heart melted. I kissed her cheek and hugged her to my chest "I may have told you this 1,000 times already but you're the best thing that's ever happened to me my love".
