Joseph's pov~~~ I couldn't sleep for several nights now. I thought that if I were to start dating Melinda I could get Scarlett out of my head for good. But how stupid I was to even think that, especially to be playing with Melinda's feelings.
The way Scarlett looked last night..... She was perfect, Dimitri is one lucky bastard. I had her and I lost her to another man, who has gotten farther with her in such small time. They looked so happy revealing the gender. They're having a girl. Something I've always wanted to have with Scarlett.
Maybe we'd get lucky and our baby would've had her same beautiful green gem eyes. I groaned as I took another sip of my whiskey. Melinda hasn't arrived home yet. I wonder where she could be? It's 6 in the morning. She probably just spent the night at her mother's again.
I couldn't get her conversation out of my mind. A few nights ago I overheard her speaking to I guess one of her friends. Talking about some girl she despises so much. It surprised me how innocent she could appear yet could speak so low about someone. I wonder what the woman she was talking about had done to her.
I wonder how Scarlett's doing. Last I seen her, looked like Dimitri was going through a hard time. I wonder what could have caused that. Scarlett was devestated as well, I wanted to so badly just wrap my arms around her and tell her that everything was going to be fine.
If I were to die one day, my final wish would be that she'd come running back to me and tell me that she loves me and how much she cares. I'd do anything to protect her and to keep her safe. My cellphone started ringing. Breaking me from my thoughts.
Joseph: Hello? Eugene: Joseph!? Can you please come to my parent's house, shit's going nuts with Scarlett, she's freaking out!! J: Where's Dimitri? E: He won't answer the phone- J: You there still? E: Yeah, help me with Scarlett please man, I don't want her to have any accidents J: I'm on my way just give me the address E: I'll text you the address
I opened up Eugene's text message and immediately typed in the address onto my GPS. What the hell Scarlett, what has gotten into you this time?....
It's a good thing I asked for his number a few months back. I started the car instantly and sped off to the house. I hope she's alright.
°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°°° I finally arrived and saw a black car parked on the driveway. Must be Dimitri's bodyguards. I rang the doorbell and the maid quickly opened up. As soon as she opened the door, cries and screaming could be heard. I ran towards the chaos and saw Scarlett screaming at her dad.

I stood behind her and grabbed her by the arms. She squirmed in my arms. "Calm down, it's me Joseph" I said. She relaxed a bit and started crying. Her mother was on the couch sobbing as well. Eugene's wife was standing by the hallway with her eyes widened.
I caressed Scarlett's back "It's alright, don't worry" I spoke softly to calm her down. Eugene walked away from his father and towards his sister and me. "Thanks for coming, please make sure she gets home safe and tell Dimitri everything, he deserves to know" Eugene said.
He was quickly interrupted by Scarlett's soft voice "No, don't tell Dimitri anything.... He's already gone through enough, just take me somewhere else please..... I need to get away from all of them" Scarlett spoke glaring at her parent's.
I nodded. Her mother quickly stood up "Scarlett, we're so sorry" she said grabbing her arm but Scarlett yanked it away. "You guys really like playing games with me, always keeping secrets from me, he SLEPT WITH MY BESTFRIEND!! HOW AM I SUPPOSED TO NOT GET MAD??" She yelled. I was shocked by her sentence.
Did her father really? She walked past her and I quickly followed behind. Her mother stayed behind crying and yelling after her. We soon walked back to the driveway and her bodyguards quickly got out of the car. "Is everything alright?" They asked "I was asked to take her to eat, I'll take her home afterwards" I told them.
They turned to Scarlett for reassurance and she nodded while sniffling. I hated seeing her this way. I opened the passengers seat for her after she was done ordering them to pick up her car from the hospital. She sat down and I immediately sat in the drivers seat and started the car and drove away from the house.
I finally pulled over in a park's parking lot. I turned to her, she looked very tired, dark circles under her eyes and red eyes. Every time she cries, her face gets pale and her cheeks, lips and nose turn rosy pink. She looks beautiful but broken. She slowly glanced my way, I felt butterflies in my stomach when she did.
"What happened?" I asked grabbing her hand for comfort "A lot...." She whispered. Her voice was breaking "First thing that happened was that.... Dimitri's grandmother passed away on her way to the baby shower" she replied.
"I'm so sorry" I wiped away her tear "Thats why I need to go back home to him, he's devastated" she said. I know it's very immature of me but I felt a bit jealous of her concern for him, which is obvious I mean she's his wife...and not mine.
"What else happened" - "Melinda tried to make me miscarry" she hesitatingly said. My eyes widened, my throat felt dry at that moment "What..." I barely managed to break out "She drugged some tea she offered me last night, said it was only meant for pregnant women and Liz who was also pregnant wanted it as well so I.... gave it to her.... A few hours later, she miscarried" she went on.

"Lizy was pregnant!?" I exclaimed. She nodded and looked away "She got pregnant by my....dad" she said before punching the door. I grabbed her hands to stop her from hurting herself "And then my mom tells me how she knew and how they were getting a divorce....." She cried uncontrollably this time. I always payed attention to every detail of everything that Scarlett did.
She took some deep breaths "I'm really sorry, come here" I said as I brought her into a hug. Her scent was the sweetest thing, how I missed it and her small body the way it fits into my embrace is perfect. Only now it's different because of her belly.
She's never going to be mine. We broke away from the hug "Be strong, not only for you but for Dimitri as well and this baby girl that's on the way, be strong for your family Scarlett, it's times like these when you guys need to be there for eachother" I said as I grabbed her small gorgeous face in my hands.
I placed a kiss on her forehead and wiped away her tears. "Show everyone you're strong, I'll have a serious talk with Melinda and the laws, she's not going to get away with this......and I'm definetly helping you get a restriction order against her" I added. She smiled and I could tell it was forced but she was being strong.
"Thank you so much Joseph" she whispered. "I'm taking you to eat and then I'm taking you home.... To your husband" I said and hugged her again. She gave my hand a small squeeze and whispered another thank you before I started the car again.
I loved her so much that even if it meant for me to stay away from her and watch her from afar form a family with a man who wasn't me, I'd do it. Just for her. I'd always be here for her.
