"Ow! That's way too tight, mom!" Ivy Millar shouted at her parent. "This really hurts! Please stop"
"Oh, shut it, brat." The woman hissed, pulling at the bandages.
The two ladies were seated in their training room. The older woman was painfully wrapping the younger girl's legs individually. She used her telekinetic quirk to hold her daughter still as she worked, tightening each wrap. Whilst the child struggled against it, she continued to yell at her mother to stop.
Finally, the mother stopped. She dropped her daughter's legs onto the ground and freed her of her hold. "Alright, I'm done so stop the annoying whining." The daughter didn't acknowledge her words, beginning to tear up as she tried moving her legs.
"Mah- My skin is burninngg," Ivy cried through her clenched jaw.
"Grow up! Now, lift the weights over there." Her mother order, aiming her finger in one direction. As the girl slowly twisted her head to face where she pointed, the mother shouted at her again. "Use your other vision, idiot!"
With another whimper, the girl slammed her eyelids shut. After a moment, the pile of weights with different heft began to float. Then, it all slammed to the ground as the girl let out a scream of pain. Her frustrated mother told her that she won't take off the bandages until she could move all the weights around the room as fast as she could. A sob came from the child as she lifted the weights once more. This time, they started to move all together around her. The objects started speeding up as her expression became more pained.
A gleeful smile spread over mum's face. In her head, she felt that all her and her husband's time and effort has been worth it. All the 'failures' they had, all the money lost. It had all been worth it.
The pain disappeared. But the weights kept moving.
Ivy's eye burst open, causing the weights to drop loudly. Her mother shouted at her, but she was more focused on one thing. Ivy tried to move her leg. It didn't budge.
"What did you do to me!" Ivy screamed at her mother. "I can't feel my legs!"
With desperation, she clawed at the bandages, only to use her quirk to rip them off her body, despite her mother's shouts of protest. Her legs were red, having been cut by some of the wraps.
"You stop this, brat!" Ivy was lifted from the ground into the air by her clothing. "Don't you dare go against me!"
With adrenaline fueling her mind, Ivy actually managed to stare at her mother and knock her down with her own quirk. Taking her opportunity, she lifted herself up and flew out the door and towards the home line telephone. Once it was in her quirk's radius, she used it to press 9-1-1.

There laid Ivy, hooked up to a beeping monitor and an I.V. drip. Ivy on an I.V. She chuckled bitterly at the thought.
After she called the emergency number, police and an ambulance raced to the house. They were quick to arrest Ivy's mother, an older hero who retired after getting pregnant with one of her children. Right after, they sent Ivy to the emergency room at the nearest hospital. She was able to give the paramedics and doctors as much information as they needed.
"Hello," a sudden voice greeted her. "I'm Doctor Terry Nicole." He moved closer to her, seating himself in the guest chair. Just judging from his body language, Ivy knew something was wrong. "I will say, my team and I did our best to fix your condition," she nodded in anticipation, "your legs had gone through acute compartment syndrome and suffered permanent damage to your tissue."
"I'm sorry to say this," he looked directly into her eyes, "You'll never walk again."
