Classes had been cancelled the day after the attack on USJ. During that brief break, Manami was keeping me at arms reach the whole day. We went shopping for groceries at a local farmer's market. All the while, my mom wouldn't let me go off on my own to look at other food items. Even today, she was considering holding me back from classes, but Hibiki and I convinced her to let me go.

What happened the other day really affected her. You could see how helpless Manami felt just by the colour on her skin. Apparently, when Hibiki called her about the situation, she ran to U.A. The staff informed her that all the students mostly came out unharmed. Manami demanded to see me and to take me home immediately. She was only calmed down a little when Hibiki found her and took her to see me in the nurse's office.

I made sure that she felt better. I told her we could do whatever she wanted on the day off, to distract her from the bad feelings.

I arrived early to school, per usual. Iida loudly instructed everyone to sit in their seats. Someone pointed out that he was the only one who wasn't seated. He was quick to sit at his desk before the door opened.

In shuffled Aizawa, wrapped head-to-toe in bandages, greeting the class like nothing happened. "You're back already, Aizawa Sensei?!" People shouted. Iida, I believe, called out that he was glad that he was doing well.

I couldn't bear to look at him. All those bandages.

"Please stop!" The tight pull of cloth.

My eyes were glued to the top of my desk. I chewed my cheek and pulled my hands into my lap. Clothing that I was wearing was feeling tighter as if trying to suffocate me. My hand loosened the tie around my neck as subtle as possible. I don't want my peers to see me have an attack.

"My welfare isn't important. Because your fight is far from over," the muffled voice of our teacher said cryptically. We all immediately assumed more villains. "U.A.'s sports festival is fast approaching!"

"That's so totally ordinary!"

"Come on! We just had that villain attack. You sure about this?!" Someone pointed out.

"It's necessary to demonstrate that U.A.'s crisis management protocols are sound. That's the thinking, apparently." Aizawa stated. "Compared to past years, there'll be five times the police presence. Anyhow, our sports festival is..." he paused for a little dramatic effect. "...The greatest opportunity you'll get. It's not an event that can be cancelled over a few villains." Some students quietly muttered about the festival. Even I was familiar with it. Back in America, my biological father would watch it to look for up-and-coming heroes. That was the only other TV channel I got to watch instead of the News channel.

Aizawa told that the old Olympics was the world's sport festival, but now U.A.'s is Japan's. A few commented that heroes scout for sidekicks during the event. So this is the time to impress. "But your time is limited. Show the pros what you're made of here, and you'll make futures for yourselves." Our teacher mentioned. "This happens once a year... so you got three chances. If you're hoping to become a hero, this is an event you can't miss!"

Modern Literature class with Cementoss was over, letting everyone free for lunch. The news of the sports festival still buzzed in the air. Students lingered in the class longer than usual to talk about the upcoming event. The hype was undeniable. Uraraka was also uncharacteristically filled with competitive excitement.

"Wada," I switch my attention to whoever called my name. Todoroki stood at the front of my desk, his face as expressionless as ever. Granted, I didn't show much either, even though I really want to.
