"You got this,"
"I got this,"
"You can do it,"
"I can do it,"
"I lied,"
"Wha- Wada!" Mina gasped, glaring childishly at me. My blank face let a teasing smirk appear after my jest. I haven't joked with anyone in so long, it was refreshing. Mina has been the only one other than my parents to break down my walls.
"Kidding. You'll win no problem, you're up against Aoyama," I stated. She gave a big smile back before glancing at the TV screen in the waiting room. Currently it was Iida versus the girl from the support class. The class president looked frustrated while the other was making gestures and staring at the audience.
"Eh? It's still not over? It's been, like, 10 hours," She questioned, staring at the screen exhaustedly.
I shrugged. "It doesn't look like she fighting, more talk." Mina giggled a little, alerting me of my grammatical error. "It doesn't look like... she's fighting, rather more talking." I corrected my sentence. The pinkie gave a nod of approval.
"You're nervous too!" Mina accused me. I defensively shook my head, denying such an indication. "Yes you are, you always talk funny when you're nervous."
"That's why I'm not going easy on you in our fight. You know me too well." I reply. She chuckles.
"Well, I won't go easy on you either! I'll fight with everything I got!" She exclaimed determinedly, taking a stand and pumping a fist into the air, her short hair bouncing with the movement. She then pointed a finger at me. "You best watch yourself Wada Ivy!"
I smiled a little, just slightly noticeable. "Good thing I can see in all directions." My grin grew a little seeing her reaction to my comment.

"We're into round six! From the top of the entrance exam, it's Wada Ivy from class 1-A!" Hesitate applause followed my introduction. It felt weird with all those eyes on me. I could see individuals whispering to each other as soon as I made my appearance. But weren't they cheering when I second in the first round? Or had they cheered for everyone else but me? A sudden assault of doubt and disappointment knocked down my earlier confidence. "And from the same class, one of the recommended students, Yaoyorozu Momo!" The cheering was noticeably louder than mine.
I glanced up to the balcony where our class sat. Mina was shining down at me, a giant goofy grin on her face, gripping onto the railing. It looked like she was cheering, her voice trying to cut above the rest but not really succeeding. Warmth blossomed in my chest, one I haven't felt since elementary school. Someone was on my side. Someone other than my adoptive family was supporting me. It felt distantly familiar, a welcome feeling nonetheless. A determined fire lit itself in my eyes, no emotional weight holding me back now. I had to win for her.
"START!"
I immediately charged straight at Yaoyorozu, leaving behind my wheelchair. She seemed caught off guard, like she had not even heard the announcement to begin. The teen quickly spawned a shield from her arm as a last decision defence as soon as she saw me coming for her. I made haste taking ahold of her shield and flinging it off to the side. It clattered to the ground with little excitement. Her initial shock left her no time to produce anything else before my quirk grabbed her uniform. I lifted the struggling girl just above the ground, carrying her with me to the edge of the arena.
"No-" Yaoyorozu tried to get out her words. She wrestled against my hold, her mind looking for answers but coming up blank. It was too late. She was dropped off outside the line, Midnight announcing her defeat.
