It was only a few weeks after she woke up, but Lexi was limping around again and went home with Sydney, having nowhere else to go,

"Lex? What are you doing?" Sydney yawned as her eyes adjusted to the light and saw Lexi lying in the floor of her room,

"Sorry, I got tired." she glowed red in embarrassment, looking back at the confused glance Sydney was giving her,

"No, I meant why were you on the floor, why didn't you crash on the couch downstairs, or even get in here with me?" Sydney asked, finishing with a smirk across her face although inside she wished she had of instead of having found her sleeping on the cold floor,

"I wanted to stay near to you, but I didn't want to get in with you in case I woke you up," Lexi admitted, her cheeks now blushing so heavily that they had turned blood red, as she walked over towards Sydney and sat at the end of her bed, "Is, is this okay?" she asked nervously looking down towards Sydney,

"What do you mean is this okay? Lex come on, what's wrong?" Sydney asked as she returned Lexi's gaze with a look of concern,

"Nothing that you could do anything about, I'll always be a worthless piece of shit until the day I drop dead," Lexi whimpered in response, her mind racing back to thoughts about how she was abandoned in pain that day,

"But you're not to me Lex, you mean the world to me, don't you see that?" Sydney reasoned with her, trying to hide being slightly hurt from seeing Lex, the girl she had come to develop strong feelings for, suffering from the memories forever imprinted in her mind, leaving the girl as a highly submissive shell of what she rarely was, convinced that she was completely worthless and that she should obey any order she's given to redeem herself for the time and resources wasted on saving her,

"Syddie, I do, but everyone else sees me as some kind of freak and my own family must have wanted me gone to care that little about me," Lex sighed, wiping away tears which had formed in the corners of her eyes, "Do you know how far I went with my Dad and Uncle because good old uncle Joel went and lost some random girl that he's taken to as kinda like a replacement for his dead daughter while no one gives a shit when I go missing, just oh well, guess the bitch finally died right?" she looked away, not wanting to see the response from the girl who she had come to love back,

"Just give everyone around here some time, they don't take nicely to new faces but have good intentions really, and I'll always be here for you, no matter what," Sydney explained, puling Lex so that she fell lying next to her,

"What do you see in my Sydney? Really, what makes you even want to be anywhere a freak. I know I should be on my hands and knees for you having saved me, but you treat me like I'm something I'm not, a normal girl," Lexi asked, turning to face Sydney, unable to stand due to Sydney now having an arm around her,

"Lexi-" Sydney started with a sympathetic tone only to be interrupted immediately,

"Please, call me Lex, my uncle refused to call me it," she whimpered, her mind racing back to thoughts of her family who abandoned her,

"Lex, I originally just felt sorry for you, but every once in a while I see the real you break through, then I see you for what you truly are whenever you're not thinking of yourself like this, and seeing you truly happy was all I needed to fall in love with you, I love you for who you truly are, that's what I see in you. And you're not a normal girl, no you can be so much more than just normal," Sydney whispered as she ran her hands through Lex's braided brown hair in a similar manner as to what her dad did to her,

"What are you doing?" Lex smirked as her hazel eyes locked with Sydney's blue and green,

"Do you like it?" Sydney asked, mirroring Lex's smirk,

"I love it," Lexi whispered in Sydney's ear, her mind having broke free from her submissive and depressed side that had quickly become dominant after she woke up in the hospital,

"Are you two planning on getting up anytime soon?" David's shouts could be heard from below the bedroom they now shared,

"Are we?" Lex asked Sydney with a smirk returning to her face,

"I don't know, he had a woman around on a date last night, think she's still here?" Sydney questioned jokingly,

"I don't know, he did seem overly fond of the idea that you should have to meet her and not stay with me," Lexi reminisced, thinking back to the night before,

"Yeah, that was until he decided I was a bit on edge, you know what I mean, and, instead of letting me go to you in peace, he went and brought you down so that I didn't have to leave," Sydney giggled,

"That wasn't a question by the way, I've got you both breakfast, now get up!" David shouted again, this time sounding more irritated,

"Alright, we're coming!" Sydney shouted in response, "You heard him," Sydney sighed as she grabbed a pair of jeans and her army vest and threw them to Lexi, "Come on, just throw these on and then we'll see if she's still here."
