"I'm done feeling weak, done feeling like a failure..." I scowled as my best friend, Shiro Emiya, walked me home from school. "I ALWAYS screw up, Shiro. You KNOW I'm no good at placement magic." Shiro sighed.
"That's why I want to help you learn, (Y/N)." He shoved his hands into his pockets and continued walking wth me until we got to my house. "I'll see you tomorrow. Come to my house and I'll teach you some placement magic." I sighed in defeat.
"Fine." Shiro stopped at the bottom step of the small set of stairs leading to my front door. "See you later, Shiro."
I walked down the stairs to the spare room of my home where I had my summoning circle set up. I looked at the time. "It's only 11:45?" I sighed. "I've got time." I turned and walked into the kitchen to grab a snack. I looked at the bowl of fruit on my dining room table and reached for the apple on top. "I'll take this re..." I jumped as my pet cockatoo squawked angrily and snatched the last apple out of the bowl. "Ok, jerk." He landed on the counter and hungrily dug into the apple. "Whatever." I grabbed a orange and started peeling the skin off.
"Time for magic!" He squawked as I looked at the time.
"11:50." I looked at my cockatoo. "I still have ten minutes, knucklehead." I began eating my orange once I had finished peeling it.
"Bean wants water!" I rolled my eyes at Bean and got a small bowl of water out for him. I set it beside his apple and went back into the spare room as the clock struck 11:58.
"Okay." I took a deep breath. "Let's see who I end up summoning." I relaxed my nerves as I cut my hand and let my blood drip into the center of the circle, causing it to glow brighter. I want someone powerful. I'm done being weak.
