Chapter 4

~Audrey~

It had been a week and Finally! A small cafe hired me as one of the waiters. Its not that much bit at least its something. Not everyone would hire a girl that only finished high school and I'm thankful that the manager was nice and also, they needed a new members on the cafe since they just opened. I was going to start working today and I am now on may way to the cafe by walking. It was too early so I guess I wanted to chill for a moment before I go to work.

My wavy brown hair was flying as I walk and my shoes hitting the ground softly. Today, I wore a simple white shirt and black jeans since it was requested by the manager himself. I love simplicity so, why not?

In a few minutes, I finally arrived at the small cafe that was beside to a small pond that made it very beautiful and welcoming. I love it so much here since the first time I came here.

I went to the door and enter the cafe. The smell of coffee hit my nose and the manager walked in front of me with a smile.

"Hello Audrey"He said. His name is John and he's in his mid thirties. He was very kind and I'm glad I didn't have a bossy and rude manager to look out for us.

"Hi John"I greet back.

"Good to see you. Come. Let's go to your locker so you can start your first day and meet the other workers"I followed behind John as we went to the locker room and stopped at one of the locker.

"This is your locker and your apron is inside there. There will be a paper and pen inside the pocket of your apron everyday to list the orders of the costumers"John said and I nodded. I opened the locker and put my handbag inside. I took out the brown apron hanged inside and put in in.

"Come. Let's go meet the others"We went to counter where every worker is standing while talking to each other.

"Everyone. This is Audrey and she will be our new waitress"John announced and all of them smiled at me.

"This is Carmella and Bella a waitress"He pointed at th cream haired girl and the brunette  gave a wave at me and I waved back at them,"This is Carlo a waiter"He pointed at the black haired guy who gave me a wink,"This is Ben the cashier as well as Vaughn the blue eyed one"John pointed at the two blond guys who nodded at me"and Kyle the janitor"A black haired guy with Black eyes who smiled at me.

"So, Now, time for work. Have a nice day everyone"Johm left and the others were very welcoming and friendly making me instantly like all of them.

Time passed and it was suddenly afternoon. The others made me eat with them on a nearby fast food and chatted a lot. We went back to work when we came back at the cafe and as three in the afternoon ticks, I lean on the counter as I waited for a new costumer to arrive.

The door opened and revealing the man that I never expected to see again. Alton. My heart felt like it stopped beating for a second and suddenly beat faster than it normally would. Damn. He had his usual messy brown hair and he wore a formal business suit. He look so hot and I can't stop ogling him. It almost had been a week and now I was able to see his face again.

"Oh damn...uh"Carmella stuttered and the other froze.

"You go serve him"Carmella elbowed Carlo and he elbowed her back"No, you" They continue on and on until I sigh.

"I will serve him"I said and they sigh in relief. I took out my paper and pen as I walked towards his table with a fast beating heart.

"G-good afternoon sir. May I have your order?"I ask and he suddenly looked up to my eyes. My stomach flutter and I saw his lips form on a thin line.

"I'd have a black coffee with no sugar. Thats all"He said and look away. I gluped and nodded.

"Alright. I'll be back with your order"

walk away and  gave his order to Ben. In a few minutes, Ben gave me the black coffee and went to Alton's table.

"Here is your order sir. Have a good day"I said as I placed his coffee on his table. He ignored me and I walk away awkwardly.

"How was it?"Carmella asked while the others looked at me curiously.

"It was okay?"I said.

"Most of us are afraid to serve him since all the power and rudeness he possess. It makes us cower. But damn, he's hot"Carmella said dreamily. Bella nodded in agreement and the guys roll their eyes.

"Admit it, Car. I'm hotter than him"Carlo winked at her and Carmella scrunched her nose in disgust at him.

"Ew, in your dreams, dude"

"Aw, rejected again"The boys teased Carlo and he rolled his eyes muttering,"Whatever"

All of us laughed and I went to stare at the green eyes man who was busy tapping on his laptop while drinking his black coffee. He looked like any other guys but there's something in him that makes him different from what I see. I want to talk to him and get to know him better. I want to know his biggest secrets and everything! But is seem so impossible with his hard demeanour.

The longer I stared at him, the more I noticed how tired he is with the black circles below his eyes and how his eyebrow were furrowed throughout all the time he tapped his laptop. He look so busy and I went to thought if he even sleep.
