Chapter 15

Audrey~

The next day, my boss, Alton was finally back at work and he looked better than he did back at his mansion.

"Good morning, sir. Here is your coffee"I greeted as I placed his coffee at his table. He was busy as usual and didn't bother to greet me back.

Today, he seem a little distant and tensed like there was something worrying him.

"Are you alright, Sir?"I ask and just gave me a single nod.

"Kindly reserve a table at any sea food restaurant and get the meeting room ready. Also, I want you to give me 30 copies of this file before the meeting starts at nine thirty"He said in his bossy tone and placed a fonder in front of me.

"Not even a 'please'"I said mockingly and grab the file. I saw him glare at me and he was about to open his mouth when I left his office in a hurry so I wouldn't hear his cries.

I smile crepes in my face and started the work for today.

When the meeting with one of the clients were finished, I was back inside Alton's office and him, on his table.

I heard him sigh and lean on his chair with a tired face.

"You should rest for a while, Sir. Work is clearly tiring you out"I told him and he raised a brow at me.

"You care because?"He asked teasingly and it shocked me that it was the first time him, being like that.

"Because you were just sick yesterday and maybe it will come back. Also, you keep tiring yourself up with work that you forget to take care of yourself. Lastly, I just simply care"I said with a shrug and he smirked.

"Admit it, you like me"

"Oh shut up. I wonder what happened to my bossy boss"

"He vanished with one look of his angel"

Then that, made my hurt flutter furiously. My eyes widen and I felt my blood reach my cheeks.

"And who is this angel?"

"She's somewhere here in this room"He chuckled and I was squealing mad around my head.

"Are you drunk or high, Mr. Ashton?"

"You simply make me crazy"

Am I dreaming right now? What is happening? Am I dead?

"You are so weird right now, Sir. You're creeping me out"

"Am I?"He was smirking making my cheek blush more.

"Whatever, Sir. Just shut up"I heard  him laugh. His attitude is creeping me out and I'm wondering why is he acting that way. I think he's drunk. Yep, maybe that's why. He will be back on his own self later on.

When is was already time for me to leave, I walked in front of Alton's desk. He was typing at his computer and once he saw me, he looked up at me with a small smile.

I think he's still drunk.

"Are you leaving?"He ask and I nodded. He stood up and turned off his computer.

"Alright, let's go"He said and I raised a brow at him.

"What do you mean?"I ask and he smirked at me.

"I'm taking you home"

"You're not"

"I am and you will not decline"

"I can go home by myself, Sir. And weren't you just busy with your work?"

"I can do that tomorrow. No more talking. Let's go"My body shivered when his hand clasped my wrist. He dragged me out of his office and J tried to slap off his hand but he wont budge.

There's something seriously wrong with him. This not Alton. I think this is his twin or something.

"Who are you and what did you do with my boss?! Let go of me! Help! Bloody Murder!Help!"I shouted and I felt his other hand cover my mouth.

"Shut up, Audrey"He hissed at me with a glare.

My boss never call me by my name!

"What is happening here?"Kylie(Alton's secretary) looked between the two of us with a puzzled look.

"Kylie! This isn't our boss! Call help before he kills me!"I cried and she gawk at me.

"Don't. Also, stop shouting Audrey! You're being too loud"

"Don't listen to him, Kylie. Run before he kills you"I shouted and she just stood there awkwardly. I was in Alton's arms while I tried to pull away from him but he tried to stop me.

"Please excuse her, Kylie. We'll be on our way"Alton dragged me towards the elevator and kept squirming out of his hold.

Once we were inside the elevator that way only for him to use, he let go of me and I ran towards the corner of the elevator, away from him.

"Stop being so paranoid, Audrey"He rolled his eyes and I narrowed my eyes at him.

"Are you Alton?"I ask and he sigh with a nod.

"I am so stop over reacting"

"My boss don't act like you do"I said and he looked away from me with his hands clenched.

"Are you telling me that I am not capable of being happy?"

My chest suddenly ached with guilty.

"No, no, I don't  mean to say that. I-"He cut me off.

"That's enough. I understand" His back faced me and I was suddenly disappointed for myself.

"I'm sorry. I didn't mean to say that. I was just startled that you started to become nice that you normally would. Please don't be mad"I pleaded  and he didn't reply.

I shouldn't have been stupid and ruin the moment. He began to change but I was being too stupid to think that he couldn't act freely and happy. I had my chance but I think I brought him back to his old self. I hope not.
