The Big Eight: High School

.•CHAPTER THREE•.

It isn't easy to have your parents dead. But what is really hard is to go move to another country with your Aunt and Uncle, while people are looking for the corpse of your dead parents, and to top it all off you have to hide your dangerous ice powers that nobody knows about.

Anna is probably on the airplane on her way to the United States. She went from Norway to Spain, and from Spain to America.

I let Anna go to the US first, just in case my powers went crazy.

It's 2 o'clock in the afternoon and it's also time for me to leave the noiseless mansion. I open my bedroom door peeking my head to make sure no one was coming this way. As I took a step out of my room I looked back at it, the ice patterned walls, the floating snowflakes, the bucket I kept for when I took a shower, all these things I hate, yet I'll miss it all. Then something hit me, What if Kai sees this frozen room?, I thought, I have to tell him.

I need to tell Kai-I'd rather tell him than let him find out, if he comes into this room after I've gone to the U.S. he'll probably pass out.

For the first time in years I called him-It was usually the other way around. I saw him come around the corner, he had a confused expression.

"Is there something wrong, Miss?"

"Kai, I have to tell you something that nobody knows of. Promise me you won't tell, especially Anna,"

"I promise,"

I took a deep breath and opened the door. His expression changed from confused to shocked, jaw dropped.

"I've always been shutting people out because I have ice powers." I touched my wooden desk and the same, old patterns spread around it.

As I had a look of disgust in my face Kai looked rather delighted.

"Oh, that explains everything!" he said with a smile,"You've got to tell your sister."

"Didn't you hear what I just said?" I stepped a bit closer to him,"You can't tell Anna and neither will I!" that came out harsher than I wanted.

"I'm sorry,"

"No Kai, I'm sorry. That was so mean of me."

Why was I being like this to the only person who knows my secret?

Was I that cruel?

Im such a monster.

A freak.

"Kai, when I was younger I hurt Anna with my powers, and since then I've been trying to protect her from them."

"I understand, Miss. I won't tell anyone about this and you will protect your sister," he paused,"But just remember, the pretty lies can't always disguise the ugly truth."

I grabbed my black suitcase and walked out the door, looking at Kai with a fake smile.

As I got out of the room I stopped and looked back,"Um, can you clean this mess up?" Kai nodded with a smile,"Oh, I almost forgot my bucket!" Kai and I chuckled a bit. I took the bucket that still had a few frozen drops of water and emptied it.

"I always wondered why you had that in your room, this certainly never occurred to me." He said while grabbing a droplet.

I'd hug Kai, but God knows what could happen to him.

I was wearing a blue-purplish short sleeved dress that reached right under my knee with my fancy gloves that reached my elbow.

I asked to go alone on the jet, but unfortunately I don't know how to fly a jet so a pilot had to come with me. Fortunately, my jet had very thick curtains that didn't let the pilot see what was happening behind him.

I brought all of my parent's paperwork with me, since I'm heir of the company I need to catch up with what my parents were doing before they . . . died.

I'm sitting in the jet looking at the town. I'll miss it, even though I've rarely made contact with the sidewalk. I could see the hill where my parents were buried. I felt my eyes tearing up, but I quickly wiped them away.

I'm sorry Mama.

I'm sorry Papa.

I tried so hard, but I just coul-

"Are you ready for takeoff, Miss?" the pilot's muffled voice interrupted my thoughts.

"I am," I retorted, my voice a bit shaky.

He said something to the co-pilot and leaded the plane through the runway.

As we took off I looked at the town, getting smaller each second. I could see Kai's face.

The things he said before. Should I really tell Anna my secret? Maybe. But even if I should, I wouldn't tell her the ugly truth.

I'd tell the pretty lies.
