Chapter 4

Friday night finally arrives and I am currently at home with dad and Benjamin after work while Kassidy is still at the school with her friends watching the football team practice before the game tonight. Dad's taking a shower after I had taken one while he watched Benjamin for me; now I'm dressed and ready to go, except for my school sweatshirt and shoes and I'm dressing Benjamin in warmer clothes before we leave tonight. The temperature outside is cold but it's cool enough that I want to make sure that he is going to be warm enough.

Dad comes into the living room as I'm zipping Benjamin in his body suit that looks like a panda bear. Smiling up at dad as he sits on the couch to pull his black socks on before his black tennis shoes. As dad stands he smiles at Benjamin and I as I'm strapping Benjamin into his car seat before standing to place my sweatshirt and shoes on before placing his diaper bag on my left shoulder and taking the car seat handle in my right.

"Ready to go?" dad asks as he places his wallet in his back pocket before slipping his coat on and grabbing his keys.

"Yeah, we're ready," I say as I walk out of the house ahead of dad so he can lock the door behind us. Securing Benjamin's car seat into the base in the back of dad's double cab truck before climbing into the front myself and buckling up as dad starts the truck and heads toward the high school.

Glancing over at dad, opening my mouth to ask him to stop somewhere to grab something for dinner, he beats me to this question. "How do you feel about stopping at Subway so we can grab dinner before the game? We have some time to kill before the game starts and I gave Kassidy and Gavin money this morning to grab dinner before the game."

Nodding I smirk at him as he quickly looks at me before returning his attention back to the road. "Yeah, that sounds great dad."

Several minutes later dad's parking in the parking lot, turns off the engine before we climb out to head inside and stand in line to order. Standing next to dad as I hold Benjamin in my arms since holding him like this is easier than bringing him inside while he's in his car seat.

When dad and I are ordering, the employees stare at me and Benjamin, some confused, somd disgusted and the others 'awed' at us. I couldn't help but smile at those who 'awed' at my baby boy since he is an awesome baby and he's damn adorable.

Grabbing my foot long veggie sub and cup as dad pays despite my protest, I fill my cup with diet coke as dad grabs his foot long sub and cup and he fills his before we sit at a table so I can hold Benjamin while I eat. I had feed Benjamin his two jars of food and bottle before we left so he shouldn't need another bottle until about a half an hour before we leave the game.

While we were eating several students from school came into the resturant for dinner, probably before the game too. The group of five teens were from the 'populur' group and the entire time they were there before we left, I could hear them whispering loudly about me and my son. Hanging my head as my face flushes a deep red from their whispers and horrid comments about the 'fag and his bastard child'.

Sniffling I roll my remaining sub back up with one hand and tighten my hold slightly on Benjamin, unable to finish my dinner since I'm terribly upset at their words about my son; he's innocent and didn't do anything to deserve their words and hate.

Dad surprises me when he turns in his chair to the group of teenagers behind him. "Hey, douche bags, shut the hell up and mind your own fucking buisness."

Dropping my jaw in shock since dad rarley looses his temper let alone at a bunch of teenagers. As soon as dad stopped talking their jaws dropped in surprise that he even thought about let alone said anything to them.

"Thanks dad," I whisper to him as Benjamin becomes fussy. Dad nods as he gathers his garbage, motioning for me to grab my leftovers and my drink after I zip Benjamin back into his snow suit before we head outside.
