2rd Person POV

Late. Again.

This kept happening over and over for you.

Peter would organise a date for the two of you and every time you'd be sat waiting patiently for him to show up. He was usually over an hour late, sometimes more, sometimes he wouldn't show up at all and later on you'd get an apology text from him telling you how sorry he is and how it won't happen again. Famous those words are between you two.

You had been waiting in the restaurant for over an hour now. Peter had booked a booth and it was pretty fancy. It was his way of making it up to you, treating you more than usual.

You checked your phone again and again. Whether it was for the time, or to check for any messages from Peter, or even just to stop yourself from looking awkward in the restaurant.

You sent him another text.

Pete please pick up I'm still at the restaurant if you're not coming just let me know x

This was probably your thirtieth message to him by now and still no reply.

At this point, you were getting quite a few pitiful looks from other diners as you kept on waiting patiently for your boyfriend to show up instead of standing you up again.

"Excuse me, miss?" The waiter walked over to you. "I'm ever so sorry but if you're not going to eat we're going to have to refuse your reservation." He lowered his voice . Your eyes began to sting with tears.

"It's okay. Um... I'm just gonna get going. Thank you." You mumbled as you left a tip for all the water you'd drank. You grabbed your purse and phone and began walking back to your apartment.

It was freezing cold and late in Queens and you didn't really feel like going home just yet and having your parents nag you about what happened tonight.

Pulling out your phone, you dialled the number for May, Peter's aunt. She was so lovely to you, she was like a second mum.

After a few rings she picked up.

"Y/n? Sweetie? It's late what's up?"

You sniffled slightly trying to blink back the tears that threatened to fall.

"May... is Peter there?"

"I'm not sure, he should be , I'm working the night-shift tonight so I won't be back till morning. Is everything alright?"

"He-He um... he didn't show up for our date again. I'm sure everything's fine but I just need to speak to him. Can I go back to yours and stay there for the night?"

"Oh of course sweetheart that's fine. You've got the spare key I'm sure it'll be okay with Peter. Just talk to him."

"Thank you, s-so much, May." She said goodbye and hung up the phone. You looked up to the night sky and started walking again.

You loved Peter so much but he was always doing this and you couldn't help but think the worst possibilities. Was he cheating on you? The thought kept running through your mind over and over until you reached his apartment.

Hugging yourself and keeping your arms inside your coat, you stepped into the hallway and out of the lift. You shakily pulled out the key and walked inside.
