" If I get drunk today. "

"Hello?" A deep voice answers. You can tell by the huskiness of it that he just woke up.

"Daniel? Sorry if I woke you up."

"It's okay. Don't worry about it. What's up by the way? Are you calling because you miss me?" I laugh at his response.

"Well maybe I do, hehe. Oh— It's midnight but— can we have drinks?" I am not sure if doing this is the right thing for a lot of reasons, and one of them is because it's midnight, he's probably tired.

There's a pause.

"Daniel? I mean you could decline if you don't want to. I understand that you're tired. I can move it next—"

"I would always choose you over anything else." I stop. That's undeniably heart fluttering.

"Kate? You still there???" I snap back to myself. He shouldn't really get into me.

"Yeah I'm here. So do you prefer the convenience store or...???"

"Your place. It's probably the most comfortable." I hope that wouldn't change, Daniel.

"I'll buy our drinks. It's on me." He added.

"You know I never liked that. Split it." I remind him. He would always insist, but he also knew how I didn't like that idea.

"Okay okay, I'll text you when I arrive."

He's in his hoodie and pants. Effortlessly attractive, now I get how this man gets asked for his number every where we go. Something little we argued about back then, which was funny though.

"So why did you suddenly ask me for a drink?" I look at him, opening the van of beer which just came from the plastic bag.

"Just wanted to talk about things that has been going on lately. A lot happened. I don't have anyone to talk to most of the time, about personal things, specifically. Seongwu is always busy." He's staring at me with an arm rested on the sofa. We're both sitting on the floor and have the sofa behind us both. I'm leaning back.

"How are you Daniel?" We're not really far from each other for him to have his other hand play with my hair.

"Better than ever. Also— I found a hobby. I can do boxing now." I chuckle as he pretends to punch the air with the hand holding his beer.

"Daniel." The mood immediately becomes serious, just from me, saying his name. He hums.

"I want to be purely honest." His other hand stops playing with my hair.

"I don't want to hurt you twice Daniel but—"

"I'm sorry." I start to tear up. I can feel my eyes already red.

"Why are you saying sorry?" He places the can of beer on the table, only to hold both of my cheeks.

"I thought I moved on from him, but my heart— it gets strangely weak every time I see him." I cry at him. He looks at me, worry and pain are mixed, appearing on his face.

And then it didn't take long for his tears to fall. He's breaking in front of me. Daniel's breaking in front of me.

"I'm so sorry. I'm such a horrible person. You should stop seeing me Daniel. I don't deserve you love." He's caressing my head, while I see him tear apart. He's trying to comfort me.

"Shhh. Don't say that." His voice was soft. Just soft.

"I'm sorry Daniel— I'm really sorry—" It's like I didn't know how to say anything besides I'm sorry.

"Don't blame yourself. Stop that. It's hurting me more." It was still soft.

"But Daniel— it's my fault— it's always my fau—"

And then I felt those warm soft lips. Stopping me from saying any word.
