Chapter 9-Denial

Days had passed when that incident happened. Everyone wasn't all that bothered about it. Yui was a bit surprised but she calmed herself about it.

It was just Kanato who wasn't fine about it. He wasn't fine at all. The memory of their kiss disturbed him like some kind of scary ghost haunting his mind.

Kanato uttered a chuckle, what has gotten into him? Now, he's believing in ghosts?

I mean even if he is a vampire himself, he never once believe in them.

Humans? Yeah, he knew they exist.

Especially the idiotic ones like Yui and some others.

His stomach growled, he didn't leave his room that much. He did not want to meet that red-headed kiss stealer and that human.

He does not know why...well he could think of a reason, he just doesn't want to go on another killing spree just by looking at them.

Suddenly, there was a knock on the door. "Who is it?" He asked, staring at the door.

"Um...It's Yui." A feminine voice replied. Kanato's heart twinge at her voice.

"What do you want?" He asked. "Uh, please..you should probably eat." Yui pleaded through the wooden door.

"Reiji told you to say that right?" Kanato asked, his voice laced with menace with a slight hint of sadness.

"Yes..." Yui mumbled.

Sure, Kanato loves his brothers...he loves them so much that he hates them.

Kanato gritted his teeth in annoyance. "No, I don't want to!" He yelled. "Leave me alone!"

Kanato could not hear Yui's voice after that, but he couldn't hear her footsteps either.

"K-Kanato..." Yui mumbled, clutching her hand to her chest. "Please come out and eat." She begged.

"Did you not hear me?" Kanato asked. "Tell Reiji I refused to go!"

"No!" Yui shouted immediately. "This is from me now...I want you to come and eat...please."

'She's worried about me.'

'Thank goodness.'

'I-I mean..I hate her.'

"F-fine..a slice of cake will do it.." Kanato muttered. Yui wore a radiant smile after hearing his words.

"Of course!" She cheered. Kanato put on a pouty face and opened the door. She stared at him with a small smile which made Kanato a bit irritated yet embarrassed.

"Let's go."

With that, Yui dragged him to the kitchen. The sudden contact of her hand with his made his stomach twisted.

"Ugh.." Kanato muttered. He really hates that sickening feeling.

At the kitchen, Yui pulled open a cabinet door and took out a piece of cake.

She carefully handed him the piece and he immediately devoured them deliciously.

"Thank you.." He muttered, averting his eyes. She shook her head. "No, I owe you this one when you took care of me."

He just nodded and continued to eat the cake. Yui sat next to him as she averted her eyes from him as he eats.

Kanato glanced at Yui's adorable face and frowned. He felt the need for her blood.

He is a vampire after all. His instinct told him that whenever there's a human nearby, he has to drink them dry.

"Yui." He said. Yui turned her head towards Kanato and spared him a small grin.

"What is it?" She asked.

He set his cake on the table and looked at Yui. "I'm thirsty." He mumbled enough for Yui to hear.

"Ah, you want a cup of hot chocolate?" She asked. Kanato twisted his lips at disappointment.

"Yui, are you stupid?" He yelled, which frightened the female. "Do you not understand me?"

"I want Yui!" He shouted, his cheeks flushed at his own statement.

What happened to him, was he actually going to fall in love with this dense female?

No, there was no way he could.

He shouldn't.

"Huh?" Yui uttered, dumbfounded.

"I..want...Yui." He whispered softly, looking away. He looked back at Yui and reached for her sleeve.

He gripped on it and pulled it down, revealing her clavicle.

"Please bear with it." Kanato gulped and bit in.

Red liquid invaded his mouth as he loved the sweet taste of Yui. Yui's cheeks reddened as she gripped tightly on Kanato's shoulders.

He placed his lips on her collarbone, inhaling the sweet scent that was oozing out of her.

He reluctantly stopped and looked up at Yui who passed out because of loss of blood.

Even if he had the urge to just turn her to a doll at the spot, his mind thinks otherwise.

He would get killed by the brothers when they found out she's dead.

He carried her and teleported to her room.

After settling her in her bed, he rolled in bed next to her and circled his arms around her.

Kanato's cheeks were flushed while he stared at Yui's face as she sleeps. He placed his hand on Yui's face.

'There's no way I would like her, her blood is all I'm after.' Kanato thought, as he slowly stood up from the bed so Yui won't wake up.

He took one more glance at her and left the room.

'There's no way.' He denied as clear liquid left the brim of his eyes.

He reached his hands on his cold face feeling warms tears staining his cheeks.

"No...way." He whimpered.
