Chapter 8-Jealousy

Yui sat awkwardly at the silent dining room. It was always like this. She doesn't hate the peace and quiet, she just despised the eerie silence.

The clanking of fork and spoons filled the room as they ate the meal silently.

Kanato's gaze was always fixed on Yui.

His feelings for Yui were still confusing but he knew he'll get the answer soon enough.

Author's reply: *whispers* no, he won't.

After dinner, everyone returned to their rooms respectively except Ayato who was following Yui.

"Hey, Pancake." Ayato's voice called out. Yui haulted her tracks and looked behind her.

Ayato waltz towards her and smirked. "Yours truly is very thirsty, do you mind?" He teased, leaning down at her.

"Uh...I.." Yui stammered, not knowing what to say. Yui was backed up against the wall as she was caged in his arms.

He looked down at her and grinned. He went down to her neck and bit into her.

"Eep!" She yelped. Shock waved through her whole body as the piercing feeling on her neck started to leave a burning sensation.

Ayato sucked in the blood and smiled, satisfied. Yui's tears begin to fall as she let out a dry whimper.

Ayato looked at her deeply in the eyes, as she stared back up at him.

He leaned close to her and connected his lips with hers.

"Mmph!" Yui muffled, at the sudden kiss. She placed her hands on his chest, as she tried to push him away but to no avail.

The sad part was Kanato was there witnessing the whole scene. His heart cracked at the event before him.

Tears rolled down his cheeks. "Let...let.." His voice cracked, as he felt his rage coming on.

"Let go of her..." Kanato whispered to himself. Tears leaked from both sides of his eyes.

Drinking her blood was one thing but kissing her was too much for him to hold his anger back.

"K-kanato..." Yui stuttered, as she noticed the presence of the heartbroken male.

"Hm..?" Ayato hummed, turning his head at Kanato. "How could you?" He mumbled, glaring at Ayato.

"Heh, looks like she's mine now." Ayato smirked, showing Kanato the bite mark on her neck.

Kanato's eyes were filled with hatred and rage but he managed his temper.

"I don't care." Kanato spat.

"What now?" Reiji said, as he saw the commotion followed by Laito.

Kanato ignored the two brothers behind him and focused his attention on the red headed jerk.

Ayato shot him a dirty look. "I don't have time to fight immature brat." He stated, and left the scene.

"Who are you calling an immature brat!" Kanato yelled.

"Kanato, that's enough!" Laito yelled. "You are being too irrational over small matters."

"Small matters?" Kanato asked sarcastically. "He kissed her, I saw it!"

Reiji frowned at him. "Why are you so concerned of this?" He asked, eyeing him suspiciously.

"I..I don't care." He mumbled. "Why would I be? We all kissed her."

"Hmm, we did...but not you." Laito countered.

Kanato grunted, how did Laito know about that?

"Heh, so it is true!" Laito teased, smilling at his cute brother.

"Isn't it, Ka-na-to~" He sang song.

"Tch." Kanato uttered, looking away. How dare they plant their lips on Yui...

To think that how many times he struggled to kiss her but failed every time is totally embarrasing.

On the other hand, Reiji was deeply concerned of Kanato.

"Kanato, can I talk to you for a moment?" Reiji asked, his face looked very serious.

Kanato reluctantly followed Reiji further away from them to have a private conversation.

"Kanato, it seems to me that you happen to be infatuated with a human." Reiji stated.

"What? Obviously not, I despised weak mortals!" Kanato denied.

"Well, you look pretty jealous back there." Laito teased as he popped out of his hiding.

"J-jealous?" He stuttered.

A lot of people call him names like psychopath, sadist, child, crybaby but to call him jealous was new to him.

Why would he envy on a pathetic mortal?

He definitely knew he just like her for her blood, nothing else.

Was she beautiful? No.

Smart? Absolutely not.

He started to recall the memories of last night where he embraced her. He couldn't deny how much he likes it.

Wouldn't it be mean to just say he was interested in her blood after all that happened?

'Agh! Who cares if Yui will be hurt because of that, she can go kill herself for all that I care.'

He scratched his head in frusturation.

Reiji and Laito observed as Kanato looked like he's about to have another meltdown. "No, I wasn't jealous." He said.

"I just want none of you to step any closer to Yui!"

Will Kanato be the decider of the ending? If so, which one?

Gotta say, I wasn't quite serious in this chapter.
