Chapter Seven: Promise

~ Tasha's P.O.V ~

"Where are you going this early Saturday morning?"

I smiled at my dad who was all hugged up on my mom before grabbing the cereal.

"Aliyah's house," I replied, making myself a bowl then sitting at the table, "we might go to the mall or something."

"You look cute." my mom complimented and I smiled.

"Thanks, y'all look cute too." I giggled.

I want a relationship like my parents, they always seemed so in love.

"Thanks boo, you know how we do." my mom joked and I laughed along with her.

"Where's the other half of your top child?"

"It's a crop top dad, it's supposed to be like this." I said in a duh tone.

"Well excuse me." he replied, rolling his neck.

He's too goofy.

There was a honk outside and I groaned. I wanted these fruity pebbles so bad.

"Bye ma, dad." I said before rushing out of the house.

"Awe, look at you," Liyah cooed pulling away towards her house, "ya little outfit's cute."

"Says everyone." I laughed.

"Langston will think it's cute too," she winked and I felt my face heating up. "We missed you guys yesterday afternoon tho, where'd you go?"

"To the beach."

"Ouu, what happened?"

"Nothing." I lied before laughing.

"Right, I'll just ask Dashawn then," She smirked at me before pulling into her garage, "you know Langston can't keep his mouth shut."

"So what are we doing today?" I questioned plopping down into her couch.

"Alexis and the guys are coming over, I was thinking just a chill, stay in day."

"Oh."

"Yeah, I have to -" She was interrupted by Dashawn busting through the door.

"I'm in this bitch!" He yelled before hitting the dougie.

"Boy bye." Liyah rolled her eyes before he embraced her in a tight hug.

"I missed you girl." Day mumbled into her hair before kissing her.

I smiled at how cute they were before turning away from them and logging into Netflix. I did not need to see them tonguing each other down.

"So you skip school now Tasha?" Day smirked while taking a seat across from me.

I gave him a dirty look before turning back to the TV.

"I was just asking girl." he chuckled, throwing his hands up in capitulation, "Funny tho, Lang wasn't at school either."

I mugged him as he pretended to be in deep thought before kissing my teeth.

"Hmm, I wonder what's up with that?" He nudged me playfully before wiggling his eyebrows and laughing.

"Forget you." I blushed.

"Wonder what Mama D had to say?" he asked referring to my mom.

"Aliyah get ya boy!" I shouted after her.

"I got him later." She exited the kitchen with all types of snacks, setting them on the coffee table.

"You know what that mean."
