Chapter three| Sunsets
MondayMost people find it tiring and requires a great deal of effort to clean. And me being a normal, well minded person, agree. Cleaning involves the movement of almost every muscle. Your arms to clean, legs to walk, and brain to stay stable.
Also me being a normal human, find it irritating for the amount I procrastinate. Procrastination could be my middle name. But the fact that I was at my uncles house and had nothing better to do took a toll on me.
I began using every muscle in my body to pick up the granola bar rappers me and Ruby had eaten off the floor. I threw them in the garbage along with other things like crumbs off the counter. I swept the floor in the kitchen and snuck a few cookies on the way. Once I thought the kitchen was clean enough, I took a step back to look at my work.
The kitchen looked elegant and flawless. The countertop reflected the sun, which was now below the window blinding me. The floor had no crumbs to be seen. One of the downfalls of cleaning is that there was way less cookies in the cupboards. I'd have to tell Ben that both Ruby and I teamed up and ate them all.
Knowing now that I have Bronchitis, it is making me more aware of my body. I have been drinking the actual amount of water for teenage girls. 8 cups of water have gone through my body today. I was going to attempt at eating healthy too... but I'll start that tomorrow.
I decided that later, I would go outside to look at the sunset. Living in the city, buildings are always in the way. In the wilderness, I feel like a sunset would look different. Sadly, I've never seen a sky full of stars in real person. Other then that one odd star. Unfortunately for me, growing up has led me to know that's it's only ever a satellite or plane.
Once the kitchen was spot clean, I moved to the room me and Ruby had been in; the living room. Pillows lay on the floor. I quickly put them back on the couch neatly placing them in the corners of the cushions.
The living room is designed for a group of people to sit looking towards the television. Around the TV was shelves upon shelves of DVD's. I automatically saw my favourite movies all stacked near each other on the same shelf.
My favourite movies are fantasy and action. Because who doesn't love a good fantasy movie with a hero and war? A lot of people actually. Silly human, they don't know what is good for them.
Beside the television remote lay two plastic pink ribbons. I examined them for a moment. Whose are they? Is Bens hair long enough to use elastics?
Instantly I realized the hair tie belonged to Ruby. I briefly remember Ruby saying how the elastic was making her want to shave all her hair off. I assume after she put her hair down. I grabbed the ribbon later slipping my shoes on.
I was on a mission to leave the house looking spick and span.
Outside I found nothing but an empty driveway and tumbleweed. The ground crumbled under my feet, the satisfying noise soothed my ears.
The house across the road must have belonged to Ruby's family. After all, it's the only house around.
Her house was beautiful. A fountain in the front with their driveway circling around it. Garden embroidered the brick walls of the house, trees surrounded it in replace of a fence. Walking up to the door, everything was magnificent. Which gave me the feeling the inside would be just as good.
