Sk8er Boi // A Plance Story

1. The Beginning of Everything

The small brunette girl stared at her books in wonder. She was in the Library her favorite place in the entire world and was currently trying to grab an astronomy book from the top shelf. She continued to try and try but her small figure didn't help her at all, even if she stood on the tips of her toes she wouldn't be able to reach the book she wanted. Sighing she walked out of the aisle and was ready to get the librarian's help. That was when she suddenly noticed a boy and a girl. Not just any girl, she had Altean marks, meaning that she was far superior than she was and well that she came from royalty.

The only people that had Altean marks were those from the royal line, those who had travelled from Altea, across the universe, in search of a new home that was Earth. Katie had always been curious about them and she had never seen an Altean in real life. This was a shocking event for her, she needed to talk to her and ask her the questions that she wanted answered about her people. She took a step forward towards them and could faintly hear their conversations. "My name's Lance, I think you're really pretty. Do you want to be friends?" The tanned boy asked her.

The girl giggled lightly kissed his cheek and walked away to what seemed to be her mother. After that the boy stood their in awe, the girl he liked had noticed him. This was some sort of miracle for him. How could a girl like that notice him? Katie on the other hand was slightly pissed, how could she have lost the opportunity to talk to her? Lightly growling she marched towards the boy who was still spaced out and had a huge grin plastered all over his face.

Katie smacked the kid in his arm and began to yell at him, tears falling out of her eyes. "How could you do that to her? I was going to talk to her, I was going to be her best friend. You ruined everything." She puffed out holding her breathe and wiping her tears with the sleeves of her sweater.

That was when Lance finally noticed the small girl, he didn't know what to do. Usually when his younger sister started crying his mother would come rushing in and kissed her forehead singing "Sana sana colita de rana." As she rubbed her back.

Lance stared at the crying child and worriedly kissed her forehead and rubbed her back. "What are you doing?" Katie asked the boy once she stopped crying. "I'm comforting you, well that's what my mom says it is." Lance answered truthfully. "I still hate you though." Katie mumbled. "What? Why do you hate me, we never even met each other. Why do you hate me so much?" Lance questioned her. "Because you took the friend that was supposed to be mine! She was going to be my friend and we were going to go to space to solve answers that we don't know." Katie exclaimed and ran to get her pile of books.

She scanned one of the books until she found a picture of the milky way. "This is where I'm going to go in the future and I was going to take her because she's Altean." Katie continued. "But you can still be your friend." Lance stated once Katie closed the book. "No, there can only be one and that best friend for her is going to be me, you'll see! In the future it's just going to be me and her, ruling the universe with our hands!" Katie yelled. That was when she suddenly realized what time it was and yelped.

"Time to go home or else my mom is going to wonder where I am and I won't be allowed to go to the library." Katie told Lance. "Are you going to come back here tomorrow?" Lance asked her. "Maybe. Why? Are you going to steal me?" Katie began to grow suspicious of him. "No! I just want a friend and none of my siblings want to play with me, mom and dad are always busy anyway with the farm and I can't go to the farm yet because I might stomp on the plants." Lance began to ramble.

Katie stared at the boy as he continued to ramble. He wasn't as bad as she had imagined previously. Giggling to herself she began to walk away. "Bye Lance."

"Wait I don't even know your name! It's not fair" Lance wined. At that moment, for some odd reason. Katie decided that it would be fun to lie to him. "My name is Pidge." She told him and with that she ran out of the library and continued to run up the hill to her house.
