Feet that journey farther then trains
Knees that buckle from all of the strainLower Back that takes the costs of attention
and for her efforts an honorable mentionThe Waist line that carries the extra fat
To take the needles that keeps life in tact
The Upper Back that carries the tension
afraid of conflict and future desentionThe Shoulders that carry the weight of the world: a feeling she's felt since she was a little girl
The Neck and Nose carry the voice behind a gate: it's clarify or quality entirely up to fate
The eyes that see the mirror reflection
constantly making the mental corrections
The mind in a state of complete rejection
Of beauty and self connection-------·
Something fundamentally changed about my self image after I published my firt poem in the December of 2018. I think that this way the first time I ever wrote anything in reference to my chronic illnesses and how they related to my daily routine. Everything about this poem was a raw emotion of what I felt cause the chronic pain I experienced daily as a young diabetic working student and how much I would do anything to see myself develop beyond what I learned was titled self hate.
