KIM's POV

Cheryl finally returned after showing Mac to one of our many guest rooms. I stood against the counter waiting for an explanation.

"Okay angel, please tell me what is going on right now.."

CHERYL'S POV

I began to tell Kimba about the meet-and-greet. About how captivated I was by Mac. Then I told her how I was driving home to her when I saw Mac on the street and couldn't just leave her. After recalling all of the events from the day. I looked up at her and said, "Babe I don't know why this girl intrigues us so much, but there is something about her that I just cannot shake."

"Cheryl, I am not mad. I get it, you couldn't leave one of your fans outside. But, Chez this is bold babe, even for you."

"I know Kimba, but I'm telling you there is just something about this girl."

"I trust you, okay, just don't get too close. We're going to have to take her back to where she belongs eventually."

I walked up to me girlfriend leaning against our kitchen counter and claimed her lips with mine. The kiss lingered for longer than I expected it to. Kim asking for entrance with her tongue, which I of course granted. The kiss naturally became undone and I grabbed her waist with me arms, wrapping her up into a tight cuddle. I buried me head in the crook of her neck, inhaling her natural scent, which just so happened to be me favorite. She let us hold on for a little while than longer, knowing this was just what I needed.

"What was that for angel?"

I smiled at the cute pet name she always used for me.

"I just needed a proper cuddle. I've been waiting for one all day. I missed you today."

"Aww babe, I missed you today too. Let's go get ready for bed and we can see what's up with that little one in our guest room."

I walked upstairs with her, hand in hand. We both walked into our walk-in closet grabbing some pajamas and slipping into them. We never actually slept with pajamas on, unless something was going on. Kimba and I had the "no clothes rule" around the house. We slept naked, woke up together naked, ate breakfast naked, and then got ready for the day. It was just something that came naturally as we started dating. We used to wake up naked after crazy, wild nights out with no clothes on. It just became a habit. Seeing as we have Mac here tonight, we won't be doing anything naked. I walked out of the closet to see Kim sitting on our bed flipping through channels aimlessly. I decided go check on Mac.

"Hey babe I'm going to run across the hall and see what's going on in there." I got a smile and a nod in return and began to walk outside of our room.

I knocked on the shut bedroom door, hoping she was still awake. I really want to have a chat with her.

"Mac? It's Cheryl."

"One second, I just am getting dressed!"

I waited for a few minutes and she finally came to the door, hair wrapped in a towel with no makeup on. She really was so gorgeous and she had dimples just like us.

"Can I come in?"

"Well it is your house, so yeah." I decided not to mention her cheekiness and just came in the room and sat on the foot of the bed.

"You all good? Clothes okay?"

"Yeah thank you for this. I just really didn't want to go 'home'." I watched as she put air quotes around home. I was really confused. I didn't want to pry, but her responses were making it really hard not to.

"No problem, babe! I couldn't just leave ya like that, could I?"

She muttered something under her breath that I couldn't make out. "Did you say something, Mac?"

"Never mind." She just fumbled with her fingers aimlessly and looked at the floor.

"Hey why don't you come sit down and have a chat with us?"

"Not really one for talking."

I don't know what to do. There's obviously something going on here, but I don't feel it's me place to pry.

"Alright, well I'm going to head back to my room then. I will just be across the hall if you need me." I began to walk away just as she grabbed my wrist, forcing us to turn around.

"Something you needed?"

"Could you maybe stay for a bit?"

"Sure." I didn't know what she wanted from us.

"Alright if I talk to you, do you promise just to listen? No judging me?"

"I can do that." I was waiting for her reply. I could only imagine what was going on in that head of hers.

"Okay so the reason I don't want to go home, is because well..." she stumbled in the middle, choking on her words "I never have really had home."

"What do you mean?" I asked, fully intrigued. She's a young girl. How could she possibly have no home?

"Well I've been in and out of foster care my whole life. I bounced between families until I was about 12. I then was returned once again to the orphanage. For reasons that are for another time and story. When I was 12 and living there, I met a friend at school named Jo. Jo and I became inseparable. I spent days and days at Jo's house. She was my best friend. Most nights I would return to the orphanage to get in trouble for being out too late at Jo's. That was until they honestly stopped caring. I had been in and out of those doors so many times, as families just kept returning me. Jo and I would always talk about finding my birth parents. Mostly my Mum. I never really liked men because of my past, but I always wished for my Mum. I wished she would hold me on nights I would cry, tuck me in, drive me to school, and come to all of my stuff. Eventually, I stopped getting in trouble for coming back to the orphanage late and for staying over night at Jo's house. So I just decided I'd live with her. Her parents weren't comfortable adopting me, so they just decided to let me move in, seeing as the orphanage didn't care much. So for about 4 years I've been living with Jo and her family. You met her today. She loves you. I was just dragged along for the ride. Better than being left home alone. So getting to the point, I've had many homes in my life, but really never somewhere that feels like home."

I didn't even know how to respond. I just sat there with my chin in my hands waiting for something to come out of me mouth. This girl has been through more than I could possibly imagine. Finally I spoke up.

"Mac, I don't really know what to say right now. That's quite the story babe." I tried to make light of the situation with a small giggle. I had so many questions. She talked about how she doesn't trust men because of past events? What happened to her?

"Yeah it is quite the story, but it's just normal to me. I don't really tell many people honestly. It's just something I've always dealt with." She shrugs her shoulders.

"Well Jo seems like some friend, I'm glad you have her."

"She really is, she took me out for my birthday yesterday. I was so excited. My foster parents never celebrated my birthday with me."

Those words sting me brain. She's adopted and it was her birthday yesterday. Me baby girl keeps running through my mind. Is she mine? I don't know what to do or say.

"Wow that's awesome." I said with a fake smile.

"Really, thank you for letting me stay. It felt good to get some of that off my chest. I should get some sleep."

"Anytime babe! Goodnight Mac, I'll be right across the hall if you need anything."

I got up to leave her room and she ran up behind us and pulled me in for a hug. I squeezed her tight knowing she probably doesn't get enough cuddles. The hug came naturally undone and I walked back to Kimba. I had to tell her.
