Robin picked up his crying daughter, wrapping her pink blanket tightly around her.

"Your father's here" he said softly, smiling at the little girl. Regina loved the adoration which he spoke to her with.

"Everything's gonna be alright" Robin assured her sweetly.

"I wouldn't be so sure" said voice from behind him and Regina, making her shudder.

Robin quickly put his daughter back in her basket where she was laying in before, and turned around to face Hades.

Regina's eyes widened as Hades pointed a white crystal towards them. She didn't know what it would do to Robin, the baby or her, but she was sure it would be bad. She could sense the magic all around that thing, and she knew it would bring death, and a painful one.

"You stay away from my daughter" Robin said, his voice hard as he pointed at Hades.

"Believe me," Hades said, stepping closer. Regina was terrified. She wanted to look at Robin for comfort, but she didn't want to show weakness, and she was needed here, focusing on the problem "she's not the one," he paused for a second, pointing the crystal at Regina "who's in danger"

Robin's heart sped up and he panicked. She couldn't get hurt. He didn't want her to be in pain, and he knew that if she died, he wouldn't be able to carry on with his life, and everyone in Storybrooke would be doomed. Regina was the one who protected them, and without her, they would have no one.

"Hades, stop." Regina said firmly. "This isn't worth it. If you kill me you will lose Zelena forever."

"Sh..." Hades said, putting a finger on his lips. "Only if she knows about it." he said. "And this," he said, referring to the crystal in his hand "isn't going to kill you. It's going to end you. No underworld, no moving on, one minute you exist and the next, you don't. That's what you get for trying to turn Zelena against me."

Regina's eyes widened in fear, and Robin wanted to comfort her, but knew it was best he didn't right now.

"This was my idea to break in here." Robin said, putting a hand in front of him and Regina. "Just... use that on me. Let her go." Robin said.

He couldn't stand the thought of a life without her. He meant what he had said a few minutes earlier. Regina was his future, and now that he had admitted it, he couldn't picture anything else. Without her his future was... empty. And he would rather die than let her die, or go on without her, and at this point, Robin knew he would risk his life if it meant saving her.

Regina looked at him with wide eyes and tried to stop him from saying that.

"I'm sorry, but ladies first." Hades said, as the crystal lit up. "No!" Regina said as a white light left the crystal, lowering the temperature around them.

A million thoughts filled his mind, but one thing was clear. Robin knew what he had to do. He was willing to sacrfice himself for her, because he didn't know what he would do without her, and he also didn't want to find out. He knew she would do a great job taking care of their kids, even of the little girl who was in the room, and of Storybrooke. He just begged she would forgive him.

He jumped in front of her, ready to take the lightning for her, but she already knew what he was going to do. She grabbed his bicep and pushed them both to the ground as the blast shattered a mirror that was behind them.

Regina gasped in relief as she saw her last minute plan had worked, and that Robin wasn't dead. Just thinking about him lifeless, like in her nightmares, was too much to bare, so she didn't stop to think, knowing that image would consume her and stop her from thinking clearly.
