25. The Day Justice Was Served....

Zuri's Point of View:

I sit in the car outside the house nervous on how to process this and go about meeting my brother for the first time.

"Are you ready for this?" Erica ask me and I sigh shaking my head.

Opening the car door I walk up the stairs and ring the doorbell.

Nervous I didn't know what I could say to this boy my brother about why I wasn't around or why he would never see our father or really know him.

The door opens and I am met with my twin.

"Zuri?" His voice beginning to hit the stages of puberty and a smile that will make all the ladies go wild.

"Yes it's me..." I say with tears in my eyes as he smiles hugging me.

"Dee who is that at the- Oh hello Zuri..." A woman who slightly resembles Bernita says answering the door, her sister.

"Hello can I come in with my friends?" I ask as she nods and we enter.

"I'm sorry to hear about Bernita..." I reply as her sister hugs me.

"It's okay we take it a day at a time..." Her sister Sharon says and we go into the living room to talk.

I was about 300 feet away from my block watching as the last squad car left.

Rubbing my pregnant belly I reminisce about my time here.

"Ma'am we got a security breach someone shot the guard downstairs come on we got to get you out of here..." Bill says as I am shook from my thoughts.

I can overhear gunshots on his radio, and I panic a bit.

Following him out the office after I call 911, we are greeted by Hansen, a deranged looking Hansen.

"I told you that you were going to pay bitch..." He says pointing the gun at me but Bill jumps in front of the bullet for me making me scream.
