I hope Carvalierchus was not stupid enough to keep me waiting. Scree'auk muttered on herself. Her pity could cost her entire life as my servant.
Beside her was two cages. The side of her chair had chains, hindering the possibility of escaping.
"What are we going to do now?" Pudge muttered lowly. "I'm sure Davion and Purist are waiting..."
"Just don't fight and see." Dragonus swatted the bones beside him. "Anyway, how did you, Davion and Purist met?"
Pudge chuckled as he shifted his chains. "Davion and Purist helped me to break my bondage from the Dead god and his chains. From there, they decided to heal me, and even offered me on their expedition to destroy the demons."
He sighed. "I never thought of those two to be my friends. Gladly, we found the source of this insanity. We should destroy the Spectre herself, her dark omen is the vitality of all demons itself, so she controls them with ease at her own command."
"Then we have to escape this hellhole first." Dragonus tubbed his helmet.
Pudge shrugged at himself. "But how do we... escape?"
To answer their thoughts, the doors opened up as a wicked laugh resonated after a while, startling the goddess and the two prisoners from her throne seat.
Scree'auk's cold eyes snapped at the malevolent figure at the distance between her, where she met the blank gaze of Shendelzare; her red Talon flaring the whole hall partnered by foul stench of rotting flesh and blood.
She became bewildred.
How the... I thought Carvalierchus had taken care of you!
Shendelzare just smiled.
"But what if I told you that I turned the tables instead?"
Insolent traitor. Scree'auk sneered. How dare you!!!
The goddess launched a Magic Missile at her, traveling in a flash, but it didn't triggered.
When the light disipated, the dark goddess went surprised as she saw her projectile being held by her minion. Carvalierchus launched it back to Scree'auk, scraping her torn veil into dust.
Scree'auk pounded the ground, showing a large crack and there, dead Skywraths emerged from it, each glaring red. Dragonus went startled, and as he saw his dead comrades, he became really sick and vomitted at the other cage.
"This is surely hell, wouldn't it?" Pudge snickered.
Charge! Scree'auk roared.
And they went like lifeless puppets.
Carvalierchus advanced step by step, shredding her way towards the dead, leaving a huge massacre of corpses upon each swipe of the Talon, its ionic energies now collecting tiny compilations of the dead, making its damage doubled.
Scree'auk launched more Magic Missiles towards her nemesis, but it just barely missed.
And at that second thought, she made her hand darken. Inky and crude in color.
All of the summoned Skywraths was dead, vanishing in the thin air as their ashes returned back to the Wastelands.
"Now where are you, Mistress..." Carvalierchus growled.
"... in here!" Pudge wavered his hand in the cage.
Carvalierchus sauntered up to the cages, destroying it with the Talon, and freeing them both.
"Wait, where's my friends?"
Carvalierchus halted. "Somewhere down the Hellfire, dead one. But do not fear, their bodies are still intact down there."
"Shendelzare, are you alright?" Dragonus scratched his head. "You sound different."
"Not yet, Dragonus." Carvalierchus replied. "Not until my paperwork is done."
"Equivalent Exchange and Spirit Absorbtion." Pudge commented to Dragonus as he clenched his hook. "It is an ancient ritual of the powerful entities for afflicting their curse onto one another."
"That's right." Carvalierchus nodded. "My curse is not taking effect, but it will eventually."
"So where is 'Scree'auk' now?" Pudge pouted.
---
Carvalierchus, Dragonus, and Pudge reached the Hall of the Vindicative Winds.
"What is this place?"
"This is the Hall of the Vindicative Winds." Carvalierchus stated. "The steam of every hatred seeps through these haunted halls, causing the roofs to get torn."
"The winds were blowing upwards." Dragonus peered his head above. "Does that mean that there's an another platform?"
Carvalierchus chuckled. "Let's see."
And she jumped off to the raging steams below them.
"Shendel!" Dragonus sprinted at the edge, but Pudge halted him.
"Look..." Pudge muttered as he looked up.
And there was Carvalierchus, leaping greatly up to the other edge.
"That's sweet!" Pudge jumped. "Cannonball!"
As he reached the base, Pudge used his hook instead of jumping first, allowing him to do the same sequence Carvalierchus did.
"Jump on, buddy! That was quite fun!"
Dragonus just shrugged as he flew directly to them instead.
"Aye, such waste of moment." Pudge pouted sadly as he retracted his chains back.
Carvalierchus smirked. "Don't be ashamed, Pudge." She pointed more steamy craters above them. "We have to work our way up there if we have to find Scree'auk."
Pudge smiled happily. "Sweet biscuit!"
