Alliah's POV

I opened my eyes, my head feeling heavy. Not used to the feeling of waking up early again after the Christmas break. "Dammit!" I groaned, cuddling my stuffed unicorn before going back to sleep. Then suddenly, someone opened my bedroom door.

"Dear, it's time to wake up!" Yelled mom. "You wouldn't want to be late on your first day of the semester do you?" My mom said while pulling up my blinds, causing the sunshine to hit my face.

"Alright alright! I'm getting up." I slowly sat up, getting annoyed. I rubbed my eyes and did a little stretching.

"I already have your breakfast ready."

I got up from my bed, placing Ally under the covers. "What did you make?"

"Your favorite" my mom smiled. "Pancakes and hot chocolate."

"Yes! Thanks mom you're the best!" I give my mom a hug.

"No problem, now go get ready." My mom said before leaving the room.

"Okay, what should I wear today?" I said, looking through my closet. At the end, I decided on a red knitted sweater and black jeans to pair with. After putting my hair up into a ponytail, my phone started vibrating. I looked at the caller ID and saw my best friend Bailee's name. I answered the call immediately.

"Good morning!" Bailee said through the phone. "Are you excited for the first day?"

"Not really, I feel like today is going to be so boring." I groaned. "But a part of me is really looking forward to this term."

"You say the same thing all the time, but you'll be seeing him later anyway." Bailee chuckled.

"I know that! You don't have to remind me again Bailee."

"I bet you couldn't sleep last night because you were thinking about him, am I right?"

I swear I could feel Bailee smirking at the other line. I just wanted to hang up out of embarrassment.

After five seconds of silence, Bailee finally spoke. "I knew it!!" She said in that annoying teasing voice.

I rolled my eyes. "Tease me all you want, i'll be moving on from him soon anyway."

"Of course you will." Bailee said sarcastically.

"Watch me. By the way I gotta go eat breakfast." I said. "I'll see you and the girls later?"

"Alright, you know where."

And with that, I ended the call and headed down stairs. After finishing breakfast, I put on my sneakers, kissed my mom goodbye and left the house. While walking, I put on my earphones and blasted some music. Once I arrived the school, I saw Bailee and Erine standing by the school gate waiting for me.

"Hey friends!" I went to them and put my arms around them. "Where's Lyza?"

"Well, the last time I called her she was still in bed. And that was five minutes ago." Erine rolled her eyes. "You know that she takes a long time getting ready."

"True, we should be used to this anyways." I sigh. Not long after that, we saw Lyza coming up to us .

"Finally." Bailee muttered.

"I'm sorry if I took long." Lyza said in between pants. "I overslept."

"It's fine now that you're here." I said. "But if we get late and end up getting detention, you're the one to blame."

"We still have two minutes." Said Erine. "We better run if we don't want to get detention."

We arrived in class all panting. The moment we took our respective seats the bell rang.

"Just in time." I said, out of breath.

[Lunch time]

"I'll see all of you on Wednesday. Don't forget to do your research and enjoy your lunch. Class dismissed!"

The entire class cheered after being in the room for an hour and thirty minutes. Listening to our teacher's lectures and ranting.

I was putting away all my things when Lyza started jumping around and whining. "Come on lets goooo! I'm starving!"

"You're always hungry." I chuckled.

"No i'm not!"

"Come on you two. We're not gonna stand here and wait for you guys to finish your so called bickering." Said Erine. "Or else all the good food will be taken away.

"Okay okay we're coming." I said.

On the way to the cafeteria, we ran into our friend Charles. "Hey ladies! Why are you guys in such a hurry?"

"Going to the cafeteria to eat lunch, bye!" Lyza said and was about to walk away until we heard a voice calling for us.

"Hey, what are you guys doing?"

I would have fainted on the spot right here if I didn't pull myself together. My heart...... it's beating so fast i'm scared that it would burst any minute.

"Shouldn't you be in class brother?" Erine asked suspiciously.

"Geez sis, we were just asked to get something from the office." Xavier raised both hands.

Erine raised an eyebrow. Xavier then cleared his throat then looked at me.

"Alliah, how are you?"

I froze. I tried making eye contact with him but for some reason I couldn't look at his eyes.

Shit! What am I gonna do?!!

Erine gave me a reassuring smile, saying that it will be alright.

"I-I umm, i'm doing g-great." I felt a bead of sweat trickle down the side of my face. I mentally cursed myself. Why did I stutter in front of him?!

Xavier just gave me his signature smile. That smile every girl in school would die of. I mean, who wouldn't like him. First of all he's smart, he's the president of his club, the class leader, handsome, and his personality itself is amazing.

Just like most of the girls in our school, I have also fallen for his charms. Just seeing his face already makes me happy. I never dared to approach him because one, a lot of his fan girls are always around him. Second, i'm too shy to talk to him and I know that our conversation would be pretty awkward. And third, he already has a girlfriend.

She's very lucky to have a guy like him. Many girls would die to be in her spot. Sometimes I don't even hope anymore because I know that it's impossible for us to end up together.

My thoughts were disturbed when Lyza started speaking.

"We would love to talk some more, but we're hungry. See you guys later!" Lyza dragged us away from the two boys.

When we arrived at the cafeteria, we ordered our foods and sat at a vacant table beside the windows.

My friends started talking about clothes, new Netflix shows, Kpop and other stuff. I guess that I must've been spacing out because Erine tapped my shoulder and gave me a worried look.

"Are you okay?" She asked.

"Yeah, i'm fine." I nodded, taking a sip of my strawberry milk. "I just got a little nervous back there, you know, facing your brother and all."

"I understand how you feel." She said. "But you know........"

"What?"

Erine smiled then looked outside the window, enjoying the beautiful view of our school's garden.

"I think Xavier likes you."
