It's strange how our world works...no one really knows how it all started. This stupid segregation between our species is killing me. I remember when things used to be peaceful, when I could actually see my friends. I lost them all because of this stupid war. Eun Yeong, Zuri, Sobek, Asherah, Conall, Misty, Ilkang, and Demetrius. It's on our leaders. THEY are the ones who separated us! My mom tells me that it's for the best, but I can see the worry in her eyes. I'm just a werewolf with no reason to even harm the other species. The elves hate the werewolves because of our fake friendly nature, the werewolves hate the mermaids because of their annoying voices, the mermaids hate the vampires because there's no reason to have dead people, the vampires hate the rainbow leopards because they're color is blinding, the rainbow leopards hate the goblins because of their grumpiness, the goblins hate the unicorns because their useless, the unicorns hate the dragons because their too aggressive, the dragons hate the fairies because their too self-centered, and the fairies hate the elves because they never shut up. We all have a reason to hate each other, and I just wish it would stop.
It's hard especially since I'm catching feelings for my friend who's part of the species my kind hates. Eun Yeong is just too ethereal for this kind of world. Her beautiful, gold tail, brown with blue highlights hair, lavender top- I JUST CAN'T with her existence.
Tap! Tap! I look outside my window and see Asherah throwing rocks at it. I slowly slide it open so I don't make too much noise. I see Asherah giggle softly while shrinking and flying up to my window.
"Hey, Brett! Want to come to the forest and hang out with me and the others?" Asherah asks with her infamous, yet cute, bunny smile. I give her a nod of agreement and rush to get a black T-shirt and some shorts on before yeeting myself out my window. Asherah follows after me as I transform into a wolf and run towards the forest.
Asherah and I eventually make it to the meeting spot, our huge treehouse, and I instantly hug everyone there. Eun Yeong had transformed into her legs! She looked so magical.
"Nice to see that you could make it, pup," Conall teased as he climbs up to the treehouse itself. I giggled and looked over to see Eun Yeong returning back to the pond next to the treehouse and transforming back into a mermaid in the water.
"What's the rush to the water for, huh?" I ask as I walk over. Eun Yeong ascends up to the surface and smiles brightly.
"Well, I'll have you know, not everyone likes having two types of transportation limbs attached to their body. Some people like to stick with just one," Eun Yeong jokes in a "professional" british voice. I laugh and splash water in her face. She playfully glares at me before splashing me back with a small, but powerful, wave.
"Not fair! You're made to basically control water!" I whine with a pout. I'm very childish when it comes to this type of stuff. Eun Yeong just laughs while I playfully stomp away back to Asherah who's just sitting on a tree branch.
"Hey, Brett. How's it going with Eun Yeong?" Asherah asks as she basically swings on the branch. I blush because I keep forgetting that I told her I liked Eun Yeong.
"It's going fine. How's it going with you and Conall?" I teasingly ask with a smirk. Asherah could only blush and let out a slight 'hmph...' I giggle before lying down in the grass, looking up at the beautiful clouds slowly drift across the sky.
