Charli's POV

When I woke up in the morning, I reached over to wrap my arm around Matt, but he wasn't there. I sat up and rubbed the sleep from my eyes, looking around the room.

I got up, fixed the bed and made my way downstairs. I could hear him rummaging around in the kitchen with music playing.

“Good morning, handsome.” I greeted him, noticing he was already showered and ready for the day.

“Hello, beautiful. How did you sleep?” He asked, walking over to me and placing a soft kiss on my lips.

“I slept great, but I woke up and you were gone. How long have you been awake?” I asked, sitting at the table.

“I'm sorry. I've only been awake for an hour or so. I showered and went to the store to get something to make for breakfast, that's all. I was trying to hurry up and cook before you woke up. There goes that surprise.” Matt explained, going back to diffing around the kitchen.

“Aww, you're so sweet. You were going to surprise me? Well, babe, it looks like you're a bit lost in your own kitchen.” I giggled, watching him look around.

“I am. I don't usually cook, I just go out to eat. I don't even know if I can make eggs.” He said, holding up the carton of eggs he got from the store.

I walked over and took the eggs from him, setting them back down on the counter. He brushed his hair from his face as I wrapped my arms around his waist and pulled him in close to me.

“You know, it's really sexy that you wanted to surprise me and make me breakfast, babe. But burning our place down probably isn't the best way to start our day.” I snickered, teasing him a bit.

He smiled at me and kissed me again.

“I guess you're right, babe. One of these days you need to teach me how to cook. Otherwise, be prepared to eat out a lot... Which may get kind of boring.”

I nodded my head in agreement and nipped at his lip, but we were interrupted by a knock at the front door.

“Who the hell-?” Matt groaned, going to answer the door.

I followed behind him, curious to see who was at our door so early in the morning.

“MORNING!” Rayne shouted with a smile on her face and Luke standing behind her, holding up bags of take out.

“Good morning to you, too. Um... Come on in.” Matt said, stepping to side to let them inside and we all sat at the kitchen table.

“What's up? And why are you awake so early? Where's Mike?” I questioned Rayne.

She looked up at Luke, then back to me.

“Well, we picked up breakfast and came over because... Well, because I have to tell you something. Well, both of you something, I suppose.”

“Okay. We're listening.” I prompted her to continue.

“Well... Michael cheated. He has been this whole time.” She blurted out.

“What?!” I exclaimed, outraged. “That bastard! When did you find out?”

“Yesterday morning. But I'm actually okay.” Rayne shrugged. “Things happen. I found out I'm not actually as in love with him like I thought I was.”

I saw the glance she sent Luke and the thoughts started churning away in my head. I looked to Matt, who raised his eyebrows at me, silently telling me he saw it too.

“And Charli, don't worry about kicking his ass. I already made him feel like an asshole and plan to continue doing so.” Luke grinned, throwing his arm around Rayne's shoulders.
