Night Flight

In the snow, they flew high as they could.

Matt and Shiro challenged each other to see who could get to the clouds first. It was difficult getting up there with the heavy clothing weighing them down. Matt has reached up his hand, and -although it was technically cheating - got to the clouds first.

Shiro didn't notice, but who cared anyway?

The wind blew hard at his face, running through his feathers. They didn't feel frozen over as of yet, but he could feel the freezing December air slowly taking over his body.

"You good? You haven't talked in awhile." Shiro swooped up beside him, hovering in mid air.

"Just enjoying myself." Matt smiled and looked down at the ground far below. To a normal person, this would have been something to be scared about. Yet, for the avians, this was total euphoria.

He turned, swooping into a diving position. "We should get back. The new year isn't going to wait for us."
