Shiro gently moved Katie next to her brother, his eyes now glued to the t.v. The last few seconds were here. He had the volume turned up. How Katie and Colleen were sleeping through it was anyone's guess.
His hands were clenched in anticipation, his wings fluttering like a hummingbird. He felt like a little kid again, fresh out of the School. It was just like his first New Year's celebration, only this time he was seventeen and nearly an adult.
But who cared?
This was fun!
"5! 4! 3! 2! 1! Happy New Year!"
The year went from 2028 to 2029, and Shiro leaped to the ceiling, nearly knocking his head on the fan. He whooped for joy, alighting back into the couch. "Matt! Matt, it's New Year's!"
The younger avian had passed out, snoring on the couch. Shiro smiled, went over to the side table and picked up a blanket. He set it stop Matt and his sister, sitting next to him.
"Happy, New Year, Matt."
