Hello, long time no see..
Hello! It's been so long since I wrote something on here, but I promise I haven't forgotten about this book yet. But I'll be completely honest; I haven't watched the third season of Riverdale. Kind of lost interest? I dunno, but I definitely will watch it soon and see if I'm still interested.Butttt- I was going through my drafts and saw I had this book sitting on a dusty shelf and I suddenly got the inspiration to write something! Now, I'll have to warn you. It's a bit different from normal X reader. It's in third person and it's Sweet Pea X female reader. I decided to try something new, so tell me what you guys think!
Also?? Ngl, kind of considering opening a Chilling Adventures Of Sabrina imagines book. Anywho! Hope you guys enjoy, and tell me if you want a part two! I'm considering it but let's see where the new year takes me. Happy holidays!
Also thanks for 17k views?!? Wow! Never expected that so thank you so much!

It was late. Past midnight late. The jukebox played gently in the corner of the diner, playing an old love song. Probably a song a guy wrote about the girl he thought would be the one. A month later, she would be returning the keys to his apartment and he would never see her again. Break up over text.
The humming of the guitar buzzed through the diner, and she could hear one of the waitress humming along to the song. The chatter of the night owls having a cup of coffee was faint, almost as if they were in a different room. The young girl couldn't get herself to focus enough; it was almost as if she was in a different world. A different world than to people sitting in the diner.
"Y/N/N." His deep voice called her name, trying to bring her back to reality. But she couldn't tune in, staring blankly out the window. A car pulled up in the parking lot of Pops, it's headlights shining brightly on the window. "Y/N/N." He called again, shifting in the seat across from her. "C'mon...talk to me."
The clinking of glasses against the table finally pulled the teen out of her phased-out state. Her Y/E/C eyes shifted to the waiter as he placed two milkshakes down, as well as a piece of your favorite pie.
Sweet Pea in the seat across from you nodded to the waiter, but didn't make a move to grab his milkshake like he normally did. Instead, he leaned forward on his elbows. His leather jacket tightened around his biceps as he leaned forward, his fingers absentmindedly fiddling with a ring around his finger. His brown eyes met yours before he cocked a brow. "Are you going to tell me what happened-"
"Nothing happened." Y/N interrupted, shifting in her seat and grabbing her milkshake. "It was just...overwhelming. I'm better now."
That night, the young girl had been invited to a Northside party by her boyfriend. She had been to many parties on the Northside with him before, so she didn't think much of it. It wasn't until she got into a heated argument with her boyfriend she knew something was wrong; that she had done something wrong.
"Y/N, you reek of a Miller and you've got a fuckin' black eye." The boy across from her growled. Licking his lips slowly, he turned his head towards the counter before lowering his voice. "You called me last eleven and I'm here, so tell me what's going on with you-"
"I already told you, nothing happened. Lay off." She replied back in a sneer, scrunching up her nose slightly. "It's none of your goddamn business. I called you to take my mind off of things, not to relive them."
The teen visibly was annoyed by her answer, shaking his head and biting the inside of his cheek. "This is stupid." He muttered and shook his head, crossing his arms over his chest and leaning back in the booth. "I told you that guy was bad news, he's a Bulldog after all." Sweet Pea said, his brown eyes shifting back to the girl in front of him.
Tears sprang to the girl's eyes, as she dragged her fingers through her hair. "Leave it alone." Y/N growled, tears brimming her eyes. "I'm perfectly aware you don't like him, but it's not up to you."
"He hit you, Y/N!" Sweets exclaimed quietly, leaning forward and narrowing his eyes at her. "You can lie to me all you want but I know you, I know you better than he ever will and I know when you lie!" He hissed before shaking his head, running his hand through his locks anxiously. "If it was up to me he'd be dead for what he's done."
Falling silent, the young girl shook her head and took a sip of her milkshake. Y/N stared blankly at the table, her ears tuning into the new song playing on the jukebox. This time it seemed to be a break up song. Guess the guy didn't appreciate the breakup text.
Sweet Pea was silent too, fiddling with his keys on the table. "Look, I can wrangle up a few of the Serpents and we can do something about this, teach him a lesson you know."
Shaking her head, the young girl wiped away her tears quickly with the back of her hand. "No. You won't do anything, Sweets."
Y/N expected the groan before it came, and when it did she rolled her eyes. "Bullshit! I will do something about this." He protested before he seemed to back down, taking a deep breath. "I don't want him hurting you anymore, Y/N/N...why don't you just leave the guy already?" Sweet Pea asked before finally taking his milkshake and drinking half of it.
"Because I love him."
"Oh that's a load of bull." He replied before swallowing.
"It isn't...you're bull." Y/N whispered under her breath before pushing away her half empty milkshake. "And he loves me too."
The boy started at her for a moment before shaking his head, almost laughing. "He doesn't love you Y/N/N." He chuckled, stirring his milkshake with his straw. "People like Fangs and me love you, Toni and all the other serpents. That Bulldog doesn't know what love is, or what flee prevention is."
Biting her tongue, Y/N gathered her stuff and stood up. "I'm so stupid to believe you actually would've helped me." She muttered under her breath as she wiped her tears and headed towards the door.
"Y/N/N!" He called from the booth. Y/N could hear the shuffle of feet and the clinking of glass hitting glass. "Where are you going?"
Y/N turned around slightly, raising her hands and shrugging. "Home. I'll see you tomorrow." The teen continued towards the door, saying goodbye to the waiter before ducking out of the diner. She adjusted her bag on her shoulder as she began walking home, pausing as she felt her phone buzzing in her pocket. As she pulled her phone from her pocket, she swallowed harshly as she saw the name on the screen.
"Hey, babe." Y/N whispered into the phone as she answered, her eyes flickering back to the diner door as it opened. "Of course I'll come over...I know, I'm sorry." She mumbled into the phone before hanging up and slipping it back into her pocket.
Sweet Pea stepped down the steps of the diner, watching the girl as she talked on the phone. "Y/N...he doesn't love you." He called to her. "You deserve better, someone like-"
"Someone like who? You?" Y/N asked before shaking her head. "I'm fine, thanks. Sorry I bothered you." The girl told him before she continued off down the road towards her boyfriend's house.
Perhaps the love song on the jukebox wasn't was Y/N thought it was. Maybe it wasn't spitting out cheesy rhyming lines to a girl that would break his heart in a matter of days. Maybe the song wasn't about a girl that was his, maybe it was about someone that was never his. Someone he couldn't have.
