Another Sunday rolled by when Yves slammed his hand on the table. I looked at him, waiting for him to state his purpose of wanting my attention.
"Follow me."
Yves led me into the storeroom where he presented a detailed information board about our current suspect.
"What the..."
I was impressed yet shocked of the effort he has put in just to find our little Miss Gwen.
"Glad you liked it."
Yves pulled out the pointer stick and pointed to the picture at the bottom left.
"So this is how it's gonna go..."
♡♡♡
"Officer Eagle, are you set at your position? Over."
"Dude what's with the dumb names?"
"Officer Eagle, I can't hear you... are you set at your position? Over." Yves repeated.
I sighed. I really should learn not to give in to him so easily. First the walkie talkie, now the names...
"Yeah, Officer Quail, I am. Over."
"For the last time, I'm Officer QuakerBites!" I could imagine Yves pouting at the name I gave him.
"Whoops... my bad."
"Sure you are." He muttered.
Then there is silence at the other end.
"Okay target spotted and heading towards the cookie aisle."
As what Yves claimed, I watched Gwen walking towards the cookie aisle. Then she stopped. She frowned and started looking around. Then she walked towards a staff.
"Excuse me, where did all the cookies go?"
"I dunno. Probably sold out."
"Please, sir. I need my cookies."
"Look, I don't know where the cookies go, alright? But."
"But?"
The staff pointed on the floor. "There's some cookie crumbs on the floor and I need to clean them up."
She flipped her hand at the staff, as if she was waving him off. "Nonsense, this is a cookie trail and I must follow it because this will lead me to the cookie thief!"
And she started following the trail. The staff continued staring at Gwen for a few seconds before shrugging and went away. I continued watching my target.

"Ey man, did she follow the cookie trail?" I asked Emmanuel, the staff that Gwen approached earlier.
"Yeah bro, she did, and I don't know if she's just dumb to follow the trail because-"
"Okay, okay," I stopped him before he could go any further, "thanks for helping her point out the cookie trail now here's a tip... thanks!"
I left my hiding spot and settled at the new one, where the cookie trail ends. I groaned. It's probably a bad idea to end the trail at the vegetable section where the garlic scent is at the peak. Doesn't matter what you think, it's too late, I thought to myself as I ripped open a pack of cookies and wait for Gwen's arrival.
"You!"
I glanced at an angry Gwen.
"You took all the cookies! And for now you'll pay!"
"We'll see about that."
With that, I took off. I ran, in a human speed of course, so much so that Gwen was chasing me and man, the girl can run!
"Officer Eagle! The target is gaining up on me! Prepare the pan trap! Over!" I alerted Finn over the walkie talkie.
"Okay." The line went dead.
After a few more turns, I saw a floating pan. I smiled and turned around. Gwen is still running after me and she looks more determined than ever. I smiled wider.
I watched myself coming closer to the pan and finally, I just fall on my knees and let myself slide on the floor with my body lean backwards as if I was in a limbo competition.
That didn't happen to my target though.
BANG!
Followed by a thud, as our target is now lying out cold on the supermarket floor.
Finn popped out of his hiding spot and looked at Gwen.
"Man, can't believe this works again."
