EVELYN GREY
is in fact, a woman out of time.
when the offer came to survive cancer,
she couldn't refuse. johann schmidt said
there was a cure, in return for obedience.
young and scared, it was the only option.
the serum for survival, was at the cost
of her own mind.

she had never planned to turn out like this.
but she owed it to her family, who
gave her the last remnants of their money
to save her life. a train ticket to hell.
sold around in exchange for medicine,
she wound up with johann schmidt.
he realized her mind couldn't forget things,
and that she could be an asset. the perfect soldier.

and she was. until one day, the fighting
seemed pointless. is this what she would do with the chance she was given?

someone once told her schmidt couldn't change her. he could torture her, alter her mind. but the letters from her past, from
the beginning, tucked away in a place
she would always find, remind her of herself.
and that's how she became the spy of the century. when the howling commandos knocked on her door, she delivered information. when she was to spy on their camp, she would spend the days avoiding
meetings with someone who saw her
for who she was instead of a mindless
soldier. this went on until she could
offer nothing more, deciding a better
fate for herself.

five days later, her escape.
that never turned out to be an escape,
because schmidt found her. it was the end of everything, leaving her to wonder why she ever took that deal in the first place. at that time, she was watched. they couldn't brainwash her, not just yet. but they could sure as hell freeze her.

when she opens her eyes again, it's 1991.
in siberia, next to someone who is vaguely familiar. all that hatred for making her miss her life, was still there. and so was HYDRA.
evelyn's determination to ruin them
was still in tact to. later she would come to know through a series of letters, she would belong to an organization called SHEILD.
