Chapter 12
Walking back inside, I was greeted by the not so happy face of my father. Yep, I have a lot of explaining to do. No, it’s more like sit there, listen to the lecture, then get grounded. Trust me, this isn’t the first time I’ve broken a window. But it was not my fault! I just simply tossed the ball a little to hard. Who knew windows were so unstable?
“Evelyn Grace Tomlinson, did you seriously manage to break another window in the two days we were gone? Not only that, but you brought some random boy to our house? Tommy I expected this from, but not you! You have some serious explai-” my father lectured on, but was interrupted by my mother. Thank the lord!
“Lou, I think I can handle this one. Why don’t you go start unpacking?” My mother suggested, getting a suspicious look from him.
“You're going to give a lecture? Jealyn, I still have to give you lectures. Are you sure this is a good idea?” He suspiciously asked, getting an eye roll from her.
“She’s my daughter to you know. I’m the one who carried her for nine months. I think I can handle a simple lecture,” my mother stated, with plenty of sass in her tone. Dad just held his hands up in defense.
“Ok, ok, If you're so sure you’ve got this one I’ll leave you to it. Just know, this is the only time I willever let you give a lecture.” With that, he trudged up the stairs leaving me in the room with my now suspicious looking mother.
“I just want to know what happened and why. I’m not going to lecture you, and I’m not going to punish you. Well, unless it’s something really bad then yes I will punish you. But that’s not the point! Just tell me what happened,” my mother calmly explained, shocking me.
“Wait, so I’m not in trouble? You're not going to sit there and lecture me on being responsible and shit?” I questioned, getting a scowl from her.
“No, I’m not going to lecture you. Those things are torcher! I am however, going to tell you to watch your language. Now, why don’t you tell me what happened?” She questioned, getting a nod from me.
“Well, I was laying up in bed when I heard a crash. I quickly ran down the stairs to see where the noise had come from. Walking downstairs, I saw Lucas standing in the middle of the living room with the window smashed. Turns out, him being the sweet boy he is, wanted to surprise me while I was home sick. I swear I had no idea he would show up! It won’t happen again!” I explained, getting a smile from my mother.
“Aw babe, you really like this boy don’t you?” She questioned, getting a sigh from me.
“Ya, ya I do. The thing is, I don’t know if he likes me back. I mean he seems interested, but how can I know for sure? I don’t know, he wanted to meet with me later. Said he had something important to tell me. Do you think I could go?” I asked, and just as she was about to answer she was interrupted by a voice from upstairs.
“No, absolutely not! There is no way in hell I am letting you anywhere near a boy. Nope, it’s not happening. You are not going anywhere!” My father declared, coming down the stairs with his arms crossed.
“Louis Tomlinson, what did I tell you? I told you I could handle this one! Do you seriously not trust me enough you feel the need to listen in on our conversation? I want you to go back upstairs and let me handle this,” this mother exclaimed, with her arms crossed.
“Ok, ok, I’m sorry. Just know, there is no way she is going out with that boy. Boy’s are strictly off limits,” my dad said, being the overprotective father he is. I just simply rolled my eyes at him.
“Would you just go upstairs? I know what I’m doing. I was a teenage girl once. I think I know how to handle this.” With that, my father rolled his eyes before trudging back up the stairs for good. As soon as he was out of sight, my mother turned to me with a wide smile.
“Now, what are you still standing here for? You have a boy to go meet.”

A/N This was more of a filler chapter. I know this story is moving a bit slow right now but I'm hoping to pick things up here in the next few chapters. I guess we'll just have to play it by ear right?
