Subaru Sakamaki x Sister! Reader (Diabolik Lovers)

Genre: Sibling-love & Fluff.

"Onii....." I softly called out to my older brother as he silently stares at the rising sun in the early dawn sky. He merely groaned to acknowledge my presence.

I pressed my lips into a thin line as I cautiously walk towards him. My short white hair, that resembles his, flows behind me. "Onii...." I called out once again.

"I don't get it with you, (Y/N)." He said. "I don't get why you are so keen on looking after me. I'm nothing but a monster. I am nothing but a worthless scum. I am nothing but a disgrace. I'm nothing." He rambled and that made me teary eyes.

"No." I whispered. "No you are not, Subaru-nii." I said firmly. "You are not a worthless scum. You are not a disgrace. You are not a nothing." I firmly said. He chuckled. "You've left out the monster part." He bitterly reminded as I bitterly smile in return.

"Aren't we all?" I softly said as I now stood besides my brother. "Aren't we all creatures of the night? Monsters of the night. Live to suck ones life out in order for us to live." I whispered as he didn't say anything but I know he agrees with me.

"But, that doesn't mean that you're an actual horrible monster, Subaru-nii." I whispered. "I am. You don't need to comfort me." He said as I sighed. "You are not. And I am reminding you that every time. You need someone to tell you that and I'm more willing to." I said firmly.

He tightened his grip on his fists but I know he wouldn't hurt me. "Onii...." I whispered as I touched his back. He tensed up but then relaxed as I now stroke comforting circles onto it.

We stayed like that for a while now, the sun has already set, revealing those white beautiful roses Subaru carefully takes care of. While staring at the beautiful roses, I stole a side glance on my older half-blood brother. He was staring at the distance.

I followed his gaze and saw that he was staring at the tower where his beautiful beloved mother was being held at. I look at him, seeing him stare longingly and lovingly at her. He truly loves his mother.

I know she loves him but her mental health is what keeping her locked up there. Far away from him. I sighed in grief. I don't know what he has been through since my mother, Beatrix, didn't really pay much attention to me but did give me love and affection sometimes.

I stopped rubbing his back and remove my hand to place my head on his shoulder. He silently wrapped his arm around me, pulling me closer.

We stayed like that for a while, enjoying the comfortable silence. "Ne, Subaru-nii....." I softly called out to him. He groaned in response, meaning that he is listening to what I was gonna say.

"What if.......we were born differently?" I asked. "What if we were a normal family? For an example, like a normal human family...... Would our lives be different from this one? Would our lives be much more.... I don't know..... Better?" I asked.

He stayed silent. "I don't know." He answered softly. "Subaru-nii..... What did we do to deserve this kind of life?" I asked as my voice cracked and my eyes were now beginning to blur from the tears that were piling up in my eyes.

He stayed silent again. I reached a hand up to my eyes to wipe away the tears that were threatening to fall. "Onii...... If we were given a chance to live the way we wanted.... If we were given a chance to ran away from this life..... Would you take it?" I asked.

"What about you? What will you choose?" He asked as I smiled sadly. "I guess I'll take it. Don't get me wrong, it's just I'm tired of all of this......" I trailed off but I know he knows what I means.

"For me..... I probably would stay here." He said as he continue to look at the tower. I know what he meant.

It means that he'll stay and endure the pain because he can't leave his mother.

I smiled sadly. "Onii...... Will we be okay?" I asked him as he look at me with a small smile. "Don't worry, sis. We will be." He answered.

I nodded with a yawn. "Are you sleepy now?" He asked and i nodded while rubbing my eye to keep me awake. He softly chuckled as he lifted me off the floor and carried me bridal style onto the halls to my room.

I rubbed my eyes as I yawn again. "Don't worry, sis. Leave everything to your older brothers. You don't have to endure this hell anymore and any longer." He softly said but that was all I heard before sleepiness has taken over me.
