Chapter 23

Cordilia left the nurse office after she pushed Lily inside. She started heading to the rooftop.

"Ouch, my hand hurt. And it's the right one too" Cordilia frowned as she sat down on the bench, cradling her right hand and stared at her palm that was bright red, it stings a lot.

But remembering the outcome of Cindy's face, it brought a smile to Cordilia's face, she could help but let out a laugh imagining her swollen and bruised pig face.

".... Hilarious. I think it's worth it" Cordilia said softly before a hand grasp her wrist and got pulled.

"Hey!" Cordilia turned to face the Culprit, blinking in shock

"Sir Aginte?" Cordilia asked, the surprise on her voice was clearly distinctive

"Too formal" Elreste replied, staring intently at Cordilia's bright red palm

'........ What the hell is he doing?' Cordilia thought, conflicted on either to pull her wrist back or just let him do as he pleases.

"...." Elreste wordlessly took out the Medical kit he snatched from the nurse office earlier.

".... Ah, you don't need t-ouch!" Cordilia flinched when the cotton ball with alcohol on it was gently dabbed on her palm

"Don't move" A cold command from the Second Prince of Aginte Empire made Cordilia freeze.

Elreste gently dabbed the cotton ball, blewing air on the bright red palm. Cordilia sighed, comfortable as the cold sensation.

Elreste could tell how delicate the girl's skin was. It was so white, even with him holding her wrist with a little force exerted stilled left red marks.

"So fragile" Elreste commented as he gently bandaged the hand, although it wasn't necessary, he still did it anyway.

"Thanks" Cordilia said, staring at the Hidden Mini Boss Villain in awe then to the bandaged hand

'........ What am I doing?' Cordilia forwned

'I am expecting things from the characters like they are actors. I am naively expected them to act just like in the Otome Game. It turns out.... They can feel things, think things, and do things that goes out of the plot' Cordilia thought as gripped the Red book on her other hand.

'Is this what Isaac wanted me to realise? With the plot changing, they can counterattack. Without the characters going to the flow of plot, it will be unpredictable' Cordilia thought before she turned her head and stared at Elreste

'It would be very very dangerous' Cordilia looked away, a regretful sigh escaped from her lips.

"You'll drown on your thoughts. You should share it" Elreste said smoothly and coolly

"That... I was just thinking what I should do. I finished the song on my book and I was thinking it its appropriate or not" Cordilia lied

'Liar' Elreste thought, displeased. He hate being lied to but who was he to say that, he barely know the girl. He had no authority to force it out from her.

Remembering five days ago where he also drowned and died from the cold when he saw her by the Dock, alone. At first Elreste thought he had died. Gone to heaven and saw an angel waiting for him in the distance, then he remembered what he had done in his life. He should be on hell for his deeds, but let him be selfish and let him want to hold her as his lifetime. That was when he fell unconscious after that.

"Why don't you sing it?" Elreste casually asked, leaning his back on the bench.

"Don't be ridiculous. I don't sing very well" Cordilia said as she flipped through the pages

"You know what, why don't you just read it" Cordilia said, Elreste raised a brow and accepted the book without much of a fuss

Scanning through the contents, his lips perked up in a smile. Though there is something on his smile that Cordilia could not point out. Shrugging her shoulders.

"I think it's best if you sing it" Elreste said, Cordilia hesitated and sighed, not wanting to offend the Prince.

"I got alot things I have to do
All these distractions
Our futures coming soon
We've been pulled a hundred different directions
But whatever happens

Even if we're miles apart!" Cordilia smiled as she looked up, Elreste looked up from the book, an unreadable expression on his face

I just wanna be with you" Cordilia sang, was about to sing the next one but...

"You know how life can be
It changes over night

But it's alright" Elreste sang though almost barely a whisper but Cordilia still heard it, a smiled bloomed on her face

'Amazing! Someone that can get the tone just by hearing it once!' Cordilia thought

"A friend like you
Always makes it easy
I know that you get me everytime" Cordilia nudged him, with an encourage smile, it's been so long and Cordilia is hyped up!

Elreste stared at her with a stunned expression. As Cordilia motion dhin to keep going. Elreste glanced at the book, already memorising the lyrics.

"Through every up,
Through every down.
You know I'm always be around
Through anything you can count on me" the two sang together

"All I wanna do

There's nothing we can't do.

No matter where life takes us

I just wanna be with you" the two finished, staring at each other as if in a trance.

Cordilia blinked and came back to reality. She grasp the book tightly to her chest and fidgeted for awhile, trying to compose herself.

"You're spacing out again" Elreste commented

"Oh... I was just thinking...." Cordilia opened her mouth before the door on the rooftop opened with a bang.

"Cordilia, there you are. We need to talk" Isaac said seriously, Cordilia fixed her expression, staring at him coldly

"Speak, what is it" Cordilia said coldly

"Let's go, somewhere private and with him out of vicinity" Isaac said, giving a glance at Elreste before he grasp Cordilia's wrist and began dragging her towards the door.

"I can walk by myself, I have legs for a reason" Cordilia used her book to whack Isaac on his head, Isaac let go immediately, scowling before he sighed and lead the way

Cordilia paused and shot an apologetic look towards Elreste's direction before she closed the door.

Elreste stood along in the rooftop, his expression dark and cold.
