The twinkling sound of bells warmly welcomed Wonwoo as he stepped inside a very familiar place, the good old luxurious library. He gently smiled at the old man sitting behind the counter, who gladly returned the same gesture.
Despite being here dozens of times, he took his time immersing and observing everything around him.
The usual. He thought.
Shelves full of books neatly arranged according to their own unique themes. Tables. Chairs.
A girl.
What? The library was always deserted. Why was there someone?
He observed her, taking in the beauty that radiates before his eyes. She looked like an average girl. But certainly not with an average mind.
She was seated right beside the window, the beams of sunlight piercing through the glass and shining down on her. Her nose was kept in the book as she sat comfortably on her seat, murmuring a few words every now and then.
Interesting.
Wonwoo then proceeded on searching the book that he read a few days ago. His long fingers glided from book to book, lightly touching their spines. Yet his effort went in vain. He couldn't find it. Could she be the one reading it?
He sighed and picked a book of similar interests and wonders. He went and looked for a seat, despite all of them being empty of anything or anyone. He always thought that in order to enjoy a good book, he also had to be in a cozy place he could enjoy. Ambience. But much to his displeasure, the best seat was taken, by none other than the girl. This frustrated him to no end, rising mild annoyance in his already troubled mind.
Nonetheless, Wonwoo took a across her. He sneaked a glance and indeed she was holding his book. He continued to stare, how she would occasionally scrunch her nose, her languid movements as she shifted from a position to another, and how she would slightly frown, yet she was still looking as peaceful as ever.
She abruptly looked up and made eye contact with him, her dark eyes piercing through him as if he was invisible. He crimsoned, but didn't look away. He gulped, but she cracked a smile.
"Hello...do you come here often?" She asked, sincerity lacing her voice.
"...yes, do you?"
"It's my first time actually, i just moved in. Everything here is very new...to me at least."
With a stroke of boldness that surprised himself, his hidden offer was spoken.
"Would you like me to show you around?""I certainly do." She gave him a wide grin.
They explored the beautiful city in the comfort of laughter.
The gates of creativity seemed to open up on them as they endlessly talked, and conversation full of colors, having to share similar interests. They introduced themselves, and exchanged phone numbers."(Y/n)...what made you move in here?"
"Uhh..school basically. I go to one of the universities here."
"What major are you taking?"
"Pyschology. I find it interesting. How about you?"
"I'm taking literature because i love to read."
They found out a lot about each other.
The day has gotten darker as they walked around the city, stopping only to go to cafes they find interesting. It has somehow unknowingly became a date, yet neither mentioned anything, just simply enjoying the lively moment.
In a short amount of time, Wonwoo had found himself very intrigued by (Y/n). He offered to walk her home and she happily accepted.
"I know we've only known each other for a day, but would you see me again tomorrow? Text me the time you want. I'll come pick you up?" He blushed deeply yet managed a smile that can light up the dark.
She laughed.
"Of course! Come at around 1 am?"
He cracked a smile and nodded. Just as he started walking, she called out to him.
"Wonwoo! I...have something to say."
"Oh? Sure."
"Don't trap me in your little games, but trap me in your heart and mind, because I'm never going anywhere."
She looked at him straight in the eyes and whimsically winked. She laughed once more and friendly hugged him, before entering her house and closing the door, leaving the poor guy to be a blushing mess.
