"Yeah, dude I saw her at the cafe!" Calum exclaims as he tells me he saw my best friend from High School working at the Cafe downtown.

"Well she lives here so you'll likely see her around," I tell him as my heart aches for the girl I once loved.

I wonder if she ever thinks of me...

I shake my head pushing the thought away. Of course, she doesn't, I hurt her by leaving. I probably hurt her more by not saying goodbye.

"Luke," Calum says impatiently.

"Yes?" I responded, pulling myself out of my own thoughts.

"Wanna go clubbing tomorrow night since it's Friday?" he asks and I nod.

"Sure," I responded as he yawned and laid down on the couch in my bedroom. I sighed as I looked at the pictures of Elena and me from High School. I truly did love her...

When I woke up in the morning I almost forgot about clubbing tonight.

"Where's Michael and Ashton?" I questioned as I sat up to Calum playing Fortnite on my tv.

"Oh Michael went to get some pizza and Ashton went to see his girlfriend," he told me and then put the headset back on. I nodded then got up to get into the shower. I sigh as the hot water runs over my body. The images of Elena's face the night I told I was leaving breaks my heart. I should've told her I loved her. Maybe that would've changed things, maybe we would have still been us or maybe even something more. I sigh as I wash my body trying to push the thoughts of Elena out of my head but I'm failing.

As I step out of the bathroom fully dressed and showered Calum, Michael, and Ashton are all in my room.

"Hey mate," Michael waves at me and I nod.

"Hey guys," I respond as I sit down on my couch next to Ashton.

"How's your girlfriend?" I question him and he smiles.

"She's good, she introduced me to Elena," he laughs and my smile falters.

"Oh wait, Ella is Elena's friend?" I question him and he nods.

"Yeah, they are like best friends or something," he responds and I sigh. I know when I left she didn't really have many friends so I'm guessing she either met Ella after I left or they were already friends. She never mentioned anyone as a best friend other than me. I really miss her.

"Hey mate cheer up we get to go clubbing tonight," Calum smirks as Ashton pats my back.

"I honestly feel bad," I told them and they rolled their eyes.

"Then go make things right with her if you miss her that much," Michael said and I shook my head.

"It's not that easy," I replied but Michael gave me a look that said 'yes it is'.

"Elena isn't just some girl that I can go in and out of her life whenever I want," I tell them, "she is the girl that literally was my everything then I screwed it up," I explain and Calum sighs.

"I know man but you can't keep moping around about her, it's been five years and if you really want her then go after her instead of being sad," he tells me but I shake my head.

"I don't know," I responded as they all groaned and threw pillows at me.

"Whatever mate," Michael grumbled as he continued eating his pizza.

I looked at myself one last time in the mirror.

"You ready mate?" Calum asked as he popped his head into my room.

"Yeah, let's go," I tell him as we leave the house quickly saying our goodbyes to my mum, Liz.

"We're gonna get so wasted tonight!" Calum cheered as I shook my head.

"You guys are gonna get wasted but I am not," I tell them as they roll their eyes.

"Buzzkill," Michael muttered as we got into my car.

"Well someone has to be designated driver and obviously it isn't gonna be any of you," I muttered earning a glare from Ash.

"Uh hello, I'm not getting drunk tonight," he told me and I nodded.

"Mhm, okay," I responded as I pulled away from my house and towards the club. The time on my dash read almost eleven at night. Once we got to the club I saw two girls sitting at the bar with their backs to me. They almost looked familiar but I just ignored them and sat down in a booth with the guys. The waitress came over to have us order drinks.

"I'll just have a beer," I tell her and she nods then looks at Calum.

"I'd like two rounds of shots, please," he says and she writes it down. Then Ashton asks for a beer and I'm assuming Michael is sharing shots with Calum. I look around the club and the two girls at the bar are gone but I see they are dancing wildly on the dance floor. I laugh and look down at my phone.

Ashton looks at me and then at Calum and Michael.

"I think we should get them home," he tells me and I nod as I check the time. Its about two in the morning and I'm getting tired.

"Yeah, let's go," I respond as we help Michael and Calum out of the club. They surprisingly aren't too drunk but a little tipsy. As we walk out we stand around for a bit to get some fresh air. We were going to leave but a girl ran into me. I look down and almost immediately I know who it is.

"Sor-," she starts but then her eyes widen as she looks at me.

"Elena?" I question as Ella's giggling stopped.

"Ash?" Ella questions as he steps forward to her.

"L-Luke?" Elena mumbled as I steady her letting my hands linger on her arms.

"Elena, are you okay?" I ask, she then suddenly runs to the trash can to throw up. I rush over to hold her hair back for her. Once she has finished she turns and looks at me.

"Are you okay?" I question once again as she shakes her head.

"No, I-I'm not okay," she cries out as she takes a step back from me.

"Elena," I start but she shakes her head.

"Stop, just stop," she tells me as she pushes past me.

"Elena!" I scream out but she ignores me, "damn it!" I shout out as I kick the trash can.

"Come on let's go to her apartment, I'm guessing that's where she's going," Ella tells us, suddenly seeming to sober up. We get into my car and I drive as Ella gives me directions. She's still as beautiful as ever. By the time we got to her apartment, we had to wait for a bit until she showed up. The sun was already coming up.

"Elena Ann Sanders, what the hell were you thinking!?" Ella screams at Elena as we open the door for her, looking at her with worry evident on our faces as Elena pushes past all of us.

"Leave me alone," she mumbled as she makes her way to her bedroom I'm guessing.

"No don't you dare push me out," Ella tells her as she whips around quickly to face her.

"I'm going to go to bed and forget everything about last night so get them," she points towards us, "out of here and leave," she tells her coldly as she goes into her bedroom and slams the door shut. Ella looks at all of us and sighs.

"Let's go, guys," she says as I hear a loud sob come from Elena's room. I look down and sigh.

"Come on Luke," Ashton says as we all exit Elena's apartment. I'm going to make it my mission to make things right between us again. No matter what it takes.
