{NADIA'S POV}
Akuhei Tanaka lights his fist on fire and meets my punch with one of his own. Our fists collide in an explosion of red and black. The force of the collision sends him skidding back, and me flying.

I flip midair. He wants me to try and land on my feet. He knows I'll lose my balance. Instead, I land in a crouching position, using my hands for balance. I grab my keys.

"Open, gate of the little penguin: Tina! Open, gate of the moon's huntress: Zoey!"

"Nadia! Look out!" Tina warns me just in time. I cartwheel backwards to avoid the chain-sickle.

"Zoey, deal with the lackey! Keep that chain-sickle off of us and take him out! Tina, do the same with Scar! Stay away from those gauntlets!" I order.

"Right-o!" Tina gives me a thumbs up.

"What about you?" Zoey asks.

"I'll deal with Akuhei Tanaka." I lower my stance. Once again, I jump at Akuhei Tanaka, but this time my spirits are with me.

Scar once again tries to block me, but Tina makes a spout of cod-scented sewer water spray up in his face. The other guy tries to hit me with his chain-sickle, but metal meets metal as an arrow clashes with it midair and sends it ricocheting away.

I once again try to punch Akuhei Tanaka with my fiery fist. He dodges and aims for my face. I move to the side, and his fist goes flying past. Akuhei Tanaka recovers by twisting his arm a little to elbow me in the side of my head instead.

I cry out, dark spots dancing in my vision for a second. Another fist, this time covered in black flames, aims for my gut. I quickly coat my knee with fire and jerk it upward, deflecting the punch.

I knee Akuhei Tanaka again, this time in the groin. He grunts in pain. I use the moment of distraction to jump backwards, putting space between us. Close combat isn't working.

Long range it is then. It's time to try out that spell that Cindy caught me practicing. Akuhei Tanaka tenses as he sees me prepare a spell.

"Will o' wisp: form bullet!" I chant. A magic circle glows around my feet. Small balls of fire appear in the air surrounding me. I hear stunned gasps behind me as my guild mates see a spell they haven't seen me use before.

I made it up myself after all.

I snap, making twenty balls of fire shoot towards Akuhei Tanaka like, well, bullets. He dodges all of them, the fire bullets making craters in the ground around him, so I send another volley his way before he's done with the first one.

Akuhei Tanaka is able to dodge most of those too, except one grazes his cheek. He yelps and clutches his cheek, then looks at his hand. Seeing blood, his nostrils flare in anger.

"You'll pay for that!" Akuhei Tanaka screams and lifts his hands above his head. A black magic circle appears. "Night-fire tornado!"

A column of black flames rises straight up in the air. Then it tilts and homes in on me. I cartwheel backwards, avoiding the fire, but it follows me. If only I could eat fire like Dad!

My back hits the wall. My instinct is to duck immediately, but I force myself to wait. I watch the spiral of fire come closer... closer...

I duck right at the last second, so the fire tornado doesn't have a chance to change directions before it crashes into the wall. Through the stone dust, I notice the scorch mark it leaves.

"What the—" I jump out of the way before Akuhei Tanaka's surprise attack hits.

I grit my teeth. Two more night-fire tornadoes and I can hopefully finish this.

"Night-fire tornado!" Akuhei Tanaka yells again. A spiral of flames once again flies upward before it starts chasing me.

I run away, bending over to grab a rock as I run.

Akuhei Tanaka laughs mockingly. "I'm so scared. What are you going to do, pelt me with stones? Oh no, I better surrender!"

I jump, and kick off the wall, positioning myself so I'm right above Akuhei Tanaka. The tornado straightens out, like a tunnel between me and him.

I throw the rock into the fiery tornado. Instead of hitting the flames and being incinerated, it flies all the way through and hits Akuhei Tanaka.

"Huh?!" The night-fire tornado disappears. I smirk. Just one more.

A tendril made of black fire, a whip, appears in Akuhei Tanaka's hand. He hits me with it, and even with my arms crossed in front of my face to guard, the impact still sends me crashing into the wall, where I lie motionless.

"This is the end! Night-fire tornado!" Akuhei Tanaka yells. Another tornado, this one bigger and hotter than the others, aims straight at me.

"Nadia!" I hear Mom scream in the background. I jump into the spiraling black flames.

Akuhei Tanaka laughs maniacally.

"What?!" He gasps, when he realizes that I haven't been turned to charcoal, but I'm actually traveling through the center of his tornado.

Akuhei Tanaka's night-fire tornado is based on the spinning winds of an actual tornado, so if you try to dodge, like I did at first, you will get seriously burned by the outward swirling flames.

But the center is hollow, so if you travel straight down the middle, aside from the heat, the fire can't touch you. And I can deal with a little heat.

I realized this as soon as I saw the scorch mark on the wall. It was in the shape of a ring, with the center not burned at all.

I reach Akuhei Tanaka at the end of the fiery tunnel. Breaking the magic circle cancels the spell, and the fire tornado disappears once more.

"I'll kill you!" He yells, summoning another flaming black night-fire whip.

"I won't let you!" I reply. Thankfully, my will o' wisp spell has more forms than just bullet. "Will o' wisp: form sun!"

I plant my feet right into his chest as the magic circle appears around them. Twenty balls of fire form and coalesce around us, forming a firebomb inches from Akuhei Tanaka's stunned face.

I use him as a launch pad, and skid across the floor, near where my guild mates watch the fight. I'm glad they're staying out of it since this is my fight, but they'll still get caught up in the blast.

"Tina!" I call. Tina looks over at Akuhei Tanaka and knows immediately what's going to happen. She leaves Scar, who she's been making gargle hongeohoe-flavored water, and leaps over to me.

"Water barrier?" She guesses. I nod.

Tina grins manipulates all the sewer water she can muster, forming a giant wall of water between me plus my guild mates and Akuhei Tanaka.

"Zoey!" I shout. She's been battling the lackey bow against chain-sickle, and by the looks of it, she's winning. For good measure, Zoey shoots him with one more arrow, before joining us.

Just in time. Not a second after Zoey is safe, I lose my control over the will o' wisp sun bomb. The rest of the building is caught in a massive explosion, as the second warehouse of Akuhei Tanaka's that's been destroyed because of me turns into a giant ball of fire, like a mini sun.
