Mia has been pacing back and forth ever since we got back into the house. She’s so worried about Tyler, I can tell by the look on Jakes face he is too.
“Calm down you guys, he only said his arm hurt, so he probably broke it and might have a concussion.”
“I know, I know but he means so much to me I don’t want anything to happen to him” Mia answers
“Everything will be alright” I reassure
Mia finally sits down after pacing for about ten minutes. I grab a bowl of chips, and go sit on the couch and put on some Netflix, Jake has been so quiet I kind of forgot he was there, until he put his arm around me, I snuggled into him, taking in his scent. We have only been watching the movie for twenty minutes when I hear my dad’s truck pull in, and apparently so does Mia, she jumps up and runs outside, I’ve never seen her move so fast. Well she runs outside to meet them me, and Jake stay right where we are watching the movie and waiting for them to come to us.
When they come inside Mia leads Tyler to the couch, and they sit down to join me and Jake. Dad explains to us what’s wrong with him, he broke two bones in his arm, and has a concussion and will be out for 4 weeks, since he did hit his head pretty hard. Mia seems to think he is incapable of looking after himself, every couple of minutes she asks him one of many questions, it’s either are you comfortable? Are you hungry? Do you need to go to the bathroom? Are you thirsty? It is getting annoying rather quickly.
“Mia, just because his arm is hurt, and he has a headache doesn’t mean he can’t do things for himself, or talk if he needs something.” I say
“Shut up. I’m just being helpful.”
“Or annoying” Jake says
Everyone laughs except for Mia, she just calls us all jerks, which doesn’t surprise me. I’m so tired, I don’t make it through the whole movie, and I fall asleep on Jake. Luckily I wake up before the movies done, by that time its supper, I can smell something cooking so I go to the kitchen to see what dad has going on.
“Hi princess could you see if your two friends and boyfriend are staying for supper”
“DAD! He is not my boyfriend! But yes I’ll go see if they’re staying”
“Hey, do you guys want to stay for supper” I ask as I walk back into the living room
They all nod their heads so I head back to kitchen and tell dad. By the time I get back into the living room the movie is over, so I put on ‘The Conjuring’, I knew Mia would like it because when she got scared she could cuddle into Tyler, and I felt the same about Jake though, not Tyler!
It wasn’t long after I started the movie that dad called us for supper, I paused the movie and we all went and sat at the table. We ate on complete silence, either we were all starving or they were scared of my dad, could be both.
After supper we all went back to the living room to finish our movie, in the scary parts I get closer to Jake, and be tightens his arm around me, after they’re done I just stay there, happier than ever. When the movie ends Jake and Tyler both decide its time they should go home since it’s been a long day and Tyler is a bit sore. Since Tyler isn’t able to ride I offer to ride his horse home, and told Mia she could drive my truck. She seemed pretty happy about that. Jake and I head down to the barn an catch the horses, we saddle them up and head off, the first couple of minutes were quiet, I guess we are still shy around each other even though we always text, and we’ve spent the last couple of days together.
“I had a really good day with you today” Jake said breaking the silence
“Me too”
“We need to do it again, maybe just the two of us?”
“Yes, that sounds awesome”
“You’re a really good rider”
“Thank you, it’s taken me a very long time to get as good as I am”
“Uh Jayde?”
“Yes?”
“I really like you”
“I really like you too”
We get to his house and to the barn, we unsaddle the horses then we lead them to pasture, on the way back to the house Jake grabs my arm and pulls me saying
“Come with me, I need your opinion on something”
“Okay” I agree
I follow and he takes me to the barn, since we are at the barn I figure it is something to do with horses, he is still holding onto my hand, he turns around and grabs my waist, he pulls me in close so that we are touching, I can feel electricity passing between us, my stomach is doing flips, I’m looking right into his chest when he cups my cheeks with his hands and tilts my head up so that I’m looking right into his eyes and he’s looking into mine, my cheeks are on fire, he leans in and passionately kisses my lips.
OH MY GOD.
He pulls away and smiles, I smile back
“We better head to the house before they come looking for us” he says
We start walking to the house and he grabs my hand, we interlock fingers. We get to the house and see Mia sitting on the island and Tyler standing in between her legs looking up at her, and kissing each other.
“Get a room” Jake says
Everyone laughs. Mia and I decide wed better head home, we say our good byes and were off. Once we get home, were laying in my bed.
Mia asks me while smirking “why did it take you guys so long to get to the house?”
I just smile.
