"Quit with that."
"Never."
She sighed, and cuddled deeper in the blankets on our bed as I wrapped my arms around her waist and pulled her closer to me.

July 1st, 2017Rose's POV
Well, today's the day. I'm so excited. I finally get to ask him the most important question of my life. As I roll out of bed, I run to the bathroom and tie my hair up, getting ready to set up Jack's birthday surprise. I walk out of our bedroom and see Jonah sitting in one of the pool chairs outside. I walk up behind him and tap his shoulder, grabbing his attention. "Earth to Jonah?"
He smiled and shook his head at me, "Are you ready to set up?"
I nodded as we ran to the side of the house, grabbing a big arch we built out of wood. Well, Zach, Daniel, and Jonah built it. Corbyn was out in New York visiting Christina, but he asked me to send him a video of Jack's reaction. Me and Jonah carried the arch to the cliff side of the yard, where if you fell off you probably couldn't get back up alone. What Jack didn't know is that Zach's been teaching me guitar, so I could play a little something just for this moment. We walked back inside, pulling the window shades down so Jack wouldn't see the arch thing. I'm gonna go out there later and make it look a little better, add some lace-y ribbon things and other stuff. As soon as we walked in, I heard Jack's groggy morning voice coming from our room. I ran in, jumping on the bed. "Happy birthday, George Washington!"
"Shut up." He said, looking kind of angry. "What's wrong, Jack?" I asked, I really didn't want him to be depressed on his 18th birthday. "Nothing, I'm fine."
Oh. My. God. He just pulled the "I'm fine." Goddammit this is bad. I grabbed his wrist, pulling him towards me. "Jack, what's wrong?"
He pulled out of my grip and that's when I noticed that his eyes were bloodshot and puffy. I let him go and walked over to his phone, unlocking it and checking his messages. I saw that Kristin was the last person he texted, so I opened their messages. As soon as I read the last text I knew why he was like this.
Kristin aka momma-
Jack, I know you're happy right now but I need to tell you something. Isla and Ava were in a car crash. Ava's okay, but Isla is unconscious and we still don't know if she'll wake up. Don't come home. Everything is okay. Stay with Rose and the boys, I think they will make you happier about this than I can. Happy Birthday, Jacky.

As soon as I finished reading, I locked the phone and set it down on the table by our bed. "What the hell are you doing on my phone?!" Jack yelled behind me, I responded by looking back at him and then he realized that I knew. I saw a tear fall down his cheek and went over to him, wrapping my arms around his shaking body. "Jack, babe, I'm so sorry." He just sobbed into my shoulder as I kept telling him I was sorry and that everything was gonna be okay. He stood straight as I wiped his tears and kissed him. "Do you want breakfast?""Yeah, even though I really don't feel like eating or moving or living."
"Jack, don't say that."
"I just lost my little sister, Rose."
"You didn't lose her, she just isn't awake. Things are gonna be okay."
He sighed and grabbed my hands as I dragged him out of the bedroom and into the kitchen, where Jonah was making chocolate chip pancakes. "Thanks, babe," Jack said as he sat down at the table and opened his phone. He went on Instagram and posted on his story:
I saw a tear fall from his eye, and I wiped it away as I pulled his face up so I could look in his eyes. "What if she doesn-"
"Jack, I love you and yes you're 18 now but that's one thing you can not do is think like that."
He half-smiled at me as Jonah brought our pancakes over, Jack just playing with his knife and fork, stabbing the pancakes until I saw him get a nasty idea. He took the knife, wiped it off with a paper towel, and brought it to his wrist. "JACK NO!" I yelled as I snatched the knife from him, throwing it to the ground and seeing the small scrape on his left wrist. It was about an inch long, really small, but it was really bloody. "Jack, baby, why?"
"Because Isla that's why!"
"Jack." He just looked at me as a tear slid down his face. "Check your messages."
I had sent him a screenshot of me and Kristin's conversation, since Jack wasn't answering her she texted me.
Jack's mom Kristin❤-
Hey sweetie, did Jack tell you about what happened?Me-
I kind of figured out by myself. I'm so sorry about Isla.Jack's mom Kristin❤-
It's ok, not your fault. Can you give him some news for me?Me-
Yes ma'am, what's the message?Jack's mom Kristin❤-
Isla woke up about an hour ago. She's doing okay, she knew her brother would be worried and she wanted him to be the first to know she was okay.Me-
Awwe, so cute. I'll tell him. Have a wonderful day❤Jack's mom Kristin❤-
You too sweetheart thank you!"Sh-she's awake?"
"Yeah, Jack. And you have about 17 missed facetimes from your mom."
"Let me go call her."
He stood up and walked to the bedroom, calling Kristin. "Hey, momma," I heard him say as he shut the door. A few moments later I heard him say: "Hey, princess! Feeling okay?"
A couple seconds after, he called me and said, "Somebody wants to see you."
I ran into the room, jumping on the bed almost hitting Jack in the chest. "Hey, cutie," I said to Isla, she looked so happy.
"Rose!"
"Feeling better?"
"Yeah, a little birdie told me that Jack was crying."
"Hey, I was worried about you," Jack defended himself.
"What? Oh, well, I gotta go, mom said the doctors need to put more medicine in me."
"Ha, okay druggie. Bye princess."
"Bye, Jacky." And she hung up. Jack was smiling again, that was good.

4:00 PM, sunsetIn a few minutes it was gonna be time to do what I needed. I finished doing my hair and put on some makeup, just mascara and my eyebrows. "You ready?" I heard Daniel say as he walked in to my bathroom.
"As I'll ever be," I replied, nervous. This is the biggest day of my life, it's gotta go somewhat good.
