The Mates Charm. (Sequel of Dragon Mating Season...Reversed!)

Chapter Three.

A/n: What brought me here again? Extreme motivation for two things;

1) My first collaboration! I'm collaborating with WolfTamer13 and I'm so excited!

2) My first 'hate' comment. I'm here to prove you wrong (despite being on another book) I'm determined to be a better writer- you've got to try and be as positive as possible and to be honest I've been pretty lucky with all the support I've been getting on the books - so despite a few negatives here and there the support you guys give is much more important (even if the hate does sting a bit). Anyway, on with the chapter. [E]

Gray stared at Natsu across the table, who was currently eating as much food as he could muster at the all-you-can-eat buffet. Which probably shouldn't exist with a world Natsu lives in. Gray resists the urge to laugh at the thought, but dismisses his silly concept to focus on the meal at hand.

"So, Natsu you're not very happy I presume?" Gray questions, attempting to discuss a lighter top than the one dominating his mind.

Natsu looks up from his food before swallowing rather forcefully.

"I am now" Natsu grins before turning his attention back to the plate of food that was provided for him. Gray shakes his head before looking down at his plate of food. He couldn't stand the fact he was hiding this from Natsu; the information was slowly eating away at his mind and he had suddenly lost his appetite.

"Hey something bothering you?" Natsu spoke up, breaking his train of thought.

"You know food wasn't made to be stared at" Natsu comments causing Gray give him a nervous look.

"I found some information out about the charms and I...Well" Gray struggled for words, which was rare for him.

"Which was what?" Natsu questions, pausing his meal and looking at Gray with a rare serious expression plastered upon his features.

Gray's nerves increases at Natsu's unwavering gaze but forces himself to continue, which in this case he saw as the most logical.

"It is true it posses a power that is related to dragon slayers..." Gray starts, placing the book in front of him. "But the dragon slayer alone can't activate this power" Gray explains.

"Oh so someone helps them?" Natsu questions, the new information surprising Natsu. "Oh that's why there is two of each! Makes sense now" Natsu states thoughtfully.

"So who helps them?"

Gray gulps nervously before replying, the question Gray had been dreading for the last couple of minutes.

"You really want to know?"

"Why would I ask if I didn't want to know?" Natsu rolls his eyes impatience getting the better of him.

"...Their mates."

Natsu stares at him and for a few moments the two share silence Natsu in utter confusion while Gray in an anxious states before Natsu finally breaks the silence.

"What's so bad about that?" Natsu questions. Gray just averts his gaze, he can never get use to the fact that he needed help or vice versa from the other male. Both seeking independence but in this situation Gray seemed the weak one and he did not like it one bit.

"I'm not really use to us relying on one another as much as we're supposed to...Being mates and all and I don't like seeming weak" Gray admits honestly.

"So? Let's just take it at our own pace simple" Natsu shrugs nonchalantly.

"It's not that easy Natsu" Gray sighs.

"It is if we make it that easy. Come on Gray don't be stubborn" Natsu grins.

"Me being the stubborn one?" Gray laughs. Natsu grins, enjoying his mate's laughter.

"Aren't you always?"

"Pffft. You're one to talk" Gray counters. Natsu just stares at his plate.

"You better get eating! You have lot of work to do"

"Work?" Gray laughs.

"Yep, or I might just have to eat it for you" Natsu teases.

"It's an all you can eat buffet what are you after my food?" Gray questions.

"I dunno" Natsu admits before grinning once more.

"Probably because you picked it." A light blush dusts Gray's cheeks. Which Gray stubbornly turns his head around to avoid being seen.

"Yeah, so?"

"Sometimes I think you can be denser then me" Natsu rolls his eyes.

"Oh and Gray?"

"Yeah?"

"Don't worry about it. We'll sort it popsicle" Natsu reassures before taking a chicken leg off his plate. Gray just shakes his head at his mate's antics.

"Here we go" Gray sighs.

'But I wouldn't have it any other way.'

A/n: And my little introduction is completed! Next chapter (just a heads up) will be a miniature time skip. Be warned...! These previous chapters realistically just set the scene I'm already getting excited. And ha! I win disappointment! ^~^
