  You let out a slow breath as you stared at the horrifying hollow. Its intimidating, white mask with its red markings, and its shaggy black body glaring at you.

"This is the end for you soul reaper!" It roars as it charges at you with a fiery rage. You easily dodge its attack and with a quick movement you turn around and charge at it using your flash step. Once you're in front of its face, you cut the mask returning the soul to the soul society.

  You pull out your phone and you fail your captain. Once he answers you say, "Its finished. I'm returning now."

"When you get here come straight to my office," he orders.

"Yes sir," you reply in a monotone voice. You send your hell butterfly and you open the gate to the soul society. Walking through you walk through the seireitei and you walk to your captain's squad.

"Y/N!" You hear a roaring loud voice yell. Turning slightly you notice a pineapple haired male and his arms wrap around you.

"What Renji," you say in a low tone. You don't like it when people touch you and so him touching you is in direct violation of that.

"You need to lighten up. Look at the bright side," he comments with a hint of sass in his voice.

"Why? Too much light leaves a burn," you answer.

"You're colder than Captain Hitsuguya," he mutters.

"Whatever," you scoff as you wiggle your way out of his unwanted arms. "Bye Renji."

  You walk away and head back on course. As you walk you notice that somehow Renji's cold words are the truth. Cold? Most likely. Stubborn? Definitely. Emotionless? No doubt. You've felt like this since you were young. Growing up in the lower districts was rough and full of pain.

  You find yourself in front of your captain's door and realize you were stuck in your thoughts. You shake your head and knock against the door and enter the room. Once inside you see your capatin hard at work on his mile long stacks of papers. You walk over to his desk and wait for him.

"You're back," he says as he sets his pen down and then looks up at you. "I need you to complete your paperwork and then you may go."

"Understood," you cold, monotone voice sends shivers down Hitsuguya's back.

  You walk over to your desk and unknowing to you your captain is watching. You sit in your chair and you pull out your pen and pull your stack of papers towards you. You then start to work and you hear a soft sigh leave Hitsuguya's lips and you glance up to see his stressed looking face. You ignore his silent plea for help and you look back down and refocus on your work. After a good few hours he sighs again and this time you look up and glare at him.

"What," you growl in irritation.

"Its nothing," he answers. You give a scoff and return to your work. You finish in a few moments and then you stand up abruptly. When you do you are about to leave when Hitsuguya stands up. He walks over to you and he grabs your hand.

"What," you ask in a monotone voice.

"What makes you happy?" He asks as he releases your hand and you stare into his turquoise eyes.

"Why," you question.

"Because ever since I met you I've never seen you happy. You've always been. . .," he trails off and bites his bottom lip.
