Flashbacks

I come home with a tear running down the right side of my face. Theres a huge bruise on my jaw. Why does he do his? I dont understand... Devin comes rushing down and sees the bruise.

"DID HE DO IT AGAIN?! WHY DOES HE KEEP BEATING YOU UP?!" He yells.

I nod and put my shaky hands on my face. Im sobbing. "I dont understand... hes always calling me a nerd, a geek, and a dork. Who cares if im in advanced?!"

"Dont worry. Hes just a bully. Im gonna take care of this. What did he do to you this time?"

"He 'accidentally' lifted his binder too fast while i was walking by. It hit my jaw. When i went to the nurse, i told them i fell in P.E."

"Ill take care of that jerk."

Devin walks outside and runs to where the bully lives. Yes, the bully does live near me. I follow close behind and watch the bully get a black eye and bloody nose from Devin. "What did she ever do to you?!" Devin yells at him.

"Devin! Guess what?" I ask as i come into the living room.

He gives me a happy look. "What Becca?"

"Well, i want you to meet someone." I pull my new boyfriend, Andrew, into the living room.

Devin gives him a dirty look. "Who are you?" He asks. Andrew holds out his hand for Devin to shake. "Im Andrew. Rebeccas boyfriend. You must be Devin! She ws talking about you the whole way here!" Devin gives him another mean look. "WELL! Me and Andrew are gonna go upstairs and study for our test!" I say, dragging Andrew upstairs. Two minutes later, Devin comes in. He interrupts us when were about to kiss. "Hey! Thought you guys would want something to drink!" he says, putting two soda cans on the nightstand. He walks out and i look down, blushing.

"What happened today?"

"Weeeeeeeeell. I kissed Keenan today!"

"Awww! My baby sister had her first kiss!"

My cheeks turn pink. "Yeaaa..."

The next day, I go to school and see Keenan talking to his friends. I skip up to him and hug him. He puts his arm around me and kisses my forehead. A few minutes later, he pulls me to he side.

"I have to tell you something, Becca..."

"Okay"

"Well... im not really feeling the same anymore. I think i might like someone else..."

"Who?!"

"Penelope.."

"Lemme get this straight! Okay. Youre breaking up with me?"

"Yes"

"FOR MY BEST FRIEND?"

"Yes"

"Shes not gonna say yes if you ask her out"

"Why not?"

"It against the girl code!"

After school, i run inside and throw my bookbag across the hall leaing to the kitchen. Im absolutely disgusted that Penelope said yes to him... Why would she betray me like that?! I scream through a clenched jaw. Devin runs in.

What happened?"

"Its Keenan..."

"What about him...?"

"He broke up with me. For Penelope. And theyre going out now!" I start to cry.

"That... that..."

"You can say it."

"THAT BITCH!"

"I KNOW!" I groan.

Devins face turns red and i can see a faint vein come out of his forehead. He runs outside to Keenans backyard with a blowtorch. I look out the window and see him set Keenans bike on fire. He throws it onto Keenans basketball net.

Me: Hey Devin! Im thinking about signing up for the X Factor. Do you think i should? I need your opinion.

Devin: I dont think you should...

Me: Why not?

Devin: Celebrities are jerks and i dont want you turning into one. They dont have secrets. They cant have a private life. The rumors about celebrities these days is horrible...

Me: Alright...

I run into my room and call Devin immediately.

"DEVIN!"

"BECCA!"

"GUESS WHERE I JUST WAS!"

"ON A DATE... WITH NIALL HORAN!"

"Who?"

"Hes the blonde, Irish, adorable, sexy, amazing, nice, carefree, cute one in One Direction!"

"Ive seen pictures of him... you guys seem like a cute couple! Send me a picture of you two!"

"Ill send you one later. But hes really nice. We should visit you in DC!"

"Or i could come there!"

"YES! I miss you!"

"I miss you too! At least im not in Cali or anywhere far away like that"

"EXACTLY!"

"I definetly wanna meet him sometime."
