I go downstairs and fix me a bowl of cereal. I start eating and my dad says," It's time to go back to school. It has been a week since the funeral and your mom would want you to go back. You know that she was wanting you to keeping your grades up and making sure you do your best in every subject. I think that it is time to get back to school today." I tell him, " Fine, for mom though." With that, I went upstairs and got dressed. I told dad, "I'm leaving now." I let out a sigh. I can't believe he wants me to go back even though mom just died. If I go inside of the school everyone is either going to be staring or asking me how am I. I don't like people getting into my business. Also, if I let people in, dad just might make us move again.
I pull up to the school and I let a sigh out and say, "Today is going to be weird and sad." I walk inside and I see most of my friends. They all say, "How are you? I'm sorry for your loss." I can feel the tears coming and I just tell them, "I'm fine. I'm going to class. I will talk to you guys later."
As I walk to class I saw a new person in the room. I was a little curious to find out his name. I went up to him and said, "Hi my name is Lola Stevens." The mysterious person said, "Hello Lola my name is Chase Rodgers." We just started talking and the teacher interrupted us. Mrs.Jackson is not even close to being one of my favorite teachers. She can be very weird and mean at the exact same time. She is my chemistry teacher. I'm not that good at it either, that just makes it worse for me.
After class Chase came up to me and asked, "Can I sit next to you at lunch?" I said, "Sure fine, but most of my friends are really weird." Chase said, "I think that I can handle your friends. No matter how weird they could be." I said, "Whatever you say. Bye class is about to start. See you at lunch or in the halls." He said, "Alright bye. Talk to you later, I guess."
1 Hour later
Time for lunch and all I have been able to think about was Chase. I am already at our usual table waiting for everyone to get here. I started to think about him again. Why can't I stop thinking about him? He seems really nice, but that doesn't change anything. Besides, we just met the first hour of school.
Speaking of look who is walking toward me. Whenever he comes up to me he says, "Hi, ready to eat." I laugh and say, " Hi and yes of course. I'm always ready to eat some food." He says, "Let's go then."
When we are in line waiting for food, I look around the cafeteria to see what were are eating. I say, "So, how was your day so far?" He says, "Good when I see you. But seriously, how long does it take just to get food?" I waited a little bit, then I say, "I don't know, I normally just go out to eat." He says, "You want to go somewhere?"
I thought is he being serious right now. I ask, "What is your favorite fast food place?" He takes a little while longer just to say," I have never eaten at a fast food restaurant. I eat at more high maintenance than that." I said, "Seriously you have never eaten at Taco Bell, McDonald's or nothing?"
He just shakes his head no. I'm going to just have to get him used to it then.
I tell him, " I'm going to have to get you used to it then."
